Kenwood HD60GD9 and HD60GD9EC Availability Update

I just was in contact with an importer who does Japanese special orders. The EC as many of you know is a limited edition model and is only available through Kenwood's direct shop online. It won't be in stores. As of now, the lead time is around the end of November.

The non-EC (or standard) model will be available in stores and on shelves in October.

In addition to the gold inside, the white casing (vs. black on the non-EC), another difference is that the EC version does not come with any earphones.

Just thought people here would like to know more info.

Someone should take the EC version and tell us if it slaughters the normal version. Mmmm, now that I think better, that someone should take BOTH.

I'm going to wait for the EC version. And anyone who can go blow over $1000 on two DAPs just to see which is better, well, they've got deeper pockets than me.

Well yes. I was joking. I would be very curious about the GD9EC, and I can compare it directly to the HD20GA7, so we can see how strong the improvements are.

You still need an importer. Kenwood Japan won't send outside of Japan.

FenderP, can you guide me to the importer(s) who would be able to get me the EC? I am not familiar with the concept of 'importers' as such, can you please elaborate?
And which importer/website would have the EC model on sale 'at the earliest'? Any recommendations?
