New HD595's - Wanting an Amp. Little Dot MK III or a Little Dot MK II++ or iBasso D1?

Greetings all!

I'm pretty much fresh of the boat here and I'm considering buying a Little Dot MK III or a Little Dot MK II++ for my Sennheiser HD595s which are coming via UPS today. I know my ears are the final judge, but I'd like to read your thoughts anyway. Before I started leaning towards tubes, I was seriously considering the iBasso D1 and still may go that way.

I'll be playing FLAC out of my Powermac using my Tascam US-428 as the DAC.

I've read quite a bit about all three of these amps, and though the iBasso D1 is more versatile I'm leaning more towards tubes, fondly remembering tube guitar amps and tube stereo receivers.

I only have a few questions and then I'm just hoping for some general thoughts from folks with more experience in these areas.

First: Both Little Dots have RCA Outputs as well as the headphone out. What could I hook these up to? Could I use them for my M-Audio Studio Pro 3 powered speakers? Those are what I currently have running out of the Tascam unit and I would have to figure out how to hook them up if I can't run them off the Little Dots.

If I got the iBasso D1 I could use the coaxial input straight from my Tascam, so I could still use the RCA outs for my speakers. The other plus to the D1 is that I could use it with my HP laptop when I travel. The D1's great reviews and versatility are what really attract me to it.

I'm not sure what all the specs mean on the Little Dots so the only real deciding factors are price, I'd like to spend as little as possible, and aesthetics, the MK III sure is perty!

Would I as a new listener be happy with the MK II++ having not heard the MK III? I've read that the HD595s really improve with Tubes, that's why I'm leaning towards the Little Dots.

Thank you all, in advance, for making this a most successful first thread.

Good luck about that!!! I hope that your boss is a eying money mongers or you are gonna waste some good job time on these new headphones

Congrats about the HD595. I have heard that they don't need much amplification. But a good source is another deal, if you are gonna use your lappies i would go for the D1 for the DAC.

Thanks, luidge! That would definitely make sense. I do need a decent DAC for travel. Then again, I might leave the HD595's at home when I travel. Man those tubes are calling to me!
