The Porta Corda MkIII is a very nice amp and it is always good to have a backup amp. Both for a different sound and if the other amp has to be fixed.

From a sound perspective, I prefer the MiniBox-E. I briefly listened to the PK1 and they were awesome. I might have to get me a pair to try again, maybe if they go on sale.

Is this a crossfeed? I can't quite understand what's it doing?
I got an amp with a CF switch as well.

It's kinda hard to explain, but using my DT770s and SFP5s, the music will be more confined in your head when you switch it on. It somewhat L-Rs inside your head as well, but not as much. The volume goes down but not drastically when it's on as well. If you ask me, I'd rather not switch it on but it's fun to play with the switch sometimes. Listen to it again. I was able to discern it pretty well with some trance music today. It isn't noticeable really-but it's still a plus for me (alongside with a BASS switch )

Is it just me or does the solder penetration look a little inconsistent overall?

Curious... Every buffered AD8610/8620 circuit I have heard (PPA, Mint) had a very aggressive, almost edgy sound to it.

Is the minibox different in that regard?

How does it sound with OPA627s?

Thanks

**edit**
I'm listening to a mint(AD8620)=> crossroads mylar XB as I type this, the smooth mellow sound of the XB really helps tame the aggressive stance of the mint, so together they sound great.

I personally would love to know how the Minibox-E compares to the iBasso T2 and XP Amp (performance version).

Could someone tell me what inputs and outputs there are? From the picture, they look like 1/8inch audio in/out ports. Does it support optical in? Thanks.

How do you know when the MiniBox-E is fully charged? Does the red light on the charger ever go out?
No nothing changes, I just plug it in whenever I'm using it with my computer. It hasn't died on me yet.

No, only 1/8th in and out.

Thanks. Is using a laptop's audio out port for the input bad due to the crappy onboard sound? Would I need some kind of USB sound card to use with the minibox e?

edit: would something like this work better as an input?

Thanks for the infos in this thread.

Can any Minibox-E & iPod video owners comment on the width of the Minibox-E? Is the amp wider than a standard iPod Video/Classic, etc?

Based on the posted picture on page 1 it does look wider but I am just looking for confirmation. Thanks!

I'm sure interested vs the t2 as well. I have a t2 I am sending back to them for repair, just jacks, a Headstage amp which sounds great but too big for the gym and just got a D1 which is waaay too big for the gym. Thats my primary use.

Wondering aout the Minibox-E since its not as tall as the headstage.

I got a loaner to review today. Won't get to really listen to it for a week or so, other amps ahead of it in line. Smaller than I thought. Lots of features. Seems well built.

Did you get that from Head-Direct? I know a lot of us have ordered from them, and they are on backorder. I'm looking forward to your review after all the praise for this amp. -CK

It is the same width! Provided as the picture shows that you have the iPod in a hard shell case.

I ordered a Minibox-E on th e13th, and just recently received an email from Fang, showing a confirmation if shipment, Just shoot Fang(Nankai) a PM and ask about recent status of amps, He's been really cool about responding to PM's, E-Mails and such.
