Livewires - California Dreamin' - Page 27

Bah, I'm so tempted to pull the trigger on this thing, but I also really want to read some initial impressions of the SuperFreqs so I can at least give both earphones a fair chance at my money...

Ah, thanks very much. I must say I was very unoriginal and chose the same colors as yours. They're so sharp looking. Thanks for the inspiration.

While I love the way they sound, I find I'm missing a bit of the detail/intimacy of my etymotic ER-4s. I figure some burn-in is in order, but can anyone recommend an amp/dac that might bring some of this back? My source will be a macbook pro, supplemented with an iAudio 7 for on the go. My budget is around 300 -- is the ibasso D1 a good bet? Thanks again for any help. I'm quite green with all this, but I'm learning. I hope I'm not too naive in thinking that once I get some of the detail back, I'll be done!

You know what, I just a/b'ed the Etymotic and the Livewires and I fully retract my comment about there being more detail in the ER-4s. In fact, the Livewires are bringing out much more than the Etymotics. I think my comment was more caused by a retrospective hallucination of the ER-4s, which are terrific headphones in my opinion. Still, these Livewires are simply amazing.

Wow, you think the livewires bring out more detail than the er-4s? That's something I hope to hear if I pull the trigger on these things this week.

To my ears they really do. Going back and forth between them, the LWs were presenting much more. The Etys seemed flat in comparison. I was listening to a timbre-heavy track and there were things coming through I hadn't heard until getting the LWs. With the low-end, there's no comparison to my ears, the LWs take it. Plus, I find the bass quite tight and focused.

Again, I think the er-4s are fantastic IEMs, but I think I'm going to put mine up on ebay to offset the cost of an amp. The LWs are really working for me.

As Paul would say on the TV show, Mad About You, "This is what I'm saying".

LW all the way - that's why my Triple.fi 10 pro and ER6i are for sale, as are your ER4s

Well, it's final. I pulled the trigger today and mailed out my livewires order. Now comes the waiting

How do these compare to SF5 Pro? I might have to sell my SF5 Pro and E3c to try these out.

How easily is the cable detached?

Fairly easily, although it's secure enough that it's not going to fall out.

More or less easily than the SF series?

I am seriously considering getting a pair of these, or maybe the Freqs depending on the reviews later this week.

Hi Kosmic.

Have you ever tried the UE Triple fi 10 headphones. I am just curious how the TF sound comparing them to LW.

Or anybody else???

Thanks

RE: GUARNERI

That`s great. I am considering to buy the Triple Fi, LW or the new freq custom (sure I will wait for the reviews). Untill now I have heard the TF only. I do not want to spend more than 500 USD so I assume these are the best options.
