Ok, it looks to me like you haven't properly seated the top part into your ear. This was the same problem that JoeB had, which he solved after Rav pointed it out. The easiest way is to get the top part in your ear first, at an angle, followed by the canal/horn shaped part of the earpiece. The canal/horn shaped part should "swivel" up into your ear.

I am pretty sure it will fit in, and will be as snug as a bug in a rug.

That can happen when you're first learning to get them in. You'll be putting them in without thinking after a while.

Out of interest, are you left handed?
No, I am right-handed. I just tried a few more times with no luck. There is no possible way to have it seat any farther into the ear.

I even had my wife hold a flashlight to the contour of my ears

It looks almost identical to the problem JoeB was having (opposite ear). It didn't look like it could go in, he had part of the blue shell showing. If you take a look at his photo, that I made the link to a few posts back, and highlight the photo you'll see where the blue is showing, very much like the red showing in your photo. Colour from the body of the shell shouldn't be showing, only the faceplate.

Of course I may be completely wrong, but better to make sure in case you send it back unnecessarily. If I was a betting man I would say it can go in.

I am a betting man, and I have $50 that says that it's not going in.

I appreciate the help, but I have tried *everything* to no avail. I'll keep you posted.

WooHoo they have arrived.

I checked the office on Saturday but the posty had dropped no mail outside the door on our floor. Decided to check the local mail deport, they wasn't waiting there and said they would probably be collecting our mail in the sorting warehouse and deliver it on the 2 Jan.

Get in work this morning and they are sat waiting on the desk. Shame I forgot my ipod to test them have to wait now untill I get home.

Well, what can I say

I brought the Shure E2C as a cheap earphone to use on my motorcycle to block out wind noise and keep me entertained on long journeys. The Shure E2C where my first IEM earphone, I couldn't get on with them, they just didn't fit and kept popping out within seconds of putting them in. So I decided to find a bit of info on them and ended on here and found the Livewires.

I decided to take the plunge due to the exchange rate and I wouldn't get any better fitting off the shelf and sounding according to the people in this thread. I got my ear impressions done and found out I had a small ear canal which is why the Shure's didn't fit.

Well I just tried on the Livewires and they fitted straight in to my ear. Talk about sound isolation the sound of the tv completely dissapered, a total difference to the shures, even for the few seconds they where in my ear they didn't block noise like these. The one problem I am having is removing the livewires is proving trickyer than inserting them lol.

Sound wise...
I am not an audophile or someone who is in to their headphones. At the moment I am listening through my Logitech 5.1 computer surround system connected to the onboard soundcard of my motherboard. There is noticable noise in the background (not computer noise from cd drive / hard drive just a constant hiss) but I think this may be the amp. All my music is mp3 so is compressed but it seems very crisp, I can pick out parts of the music better as it isn't as muffled, bass sounds good to me it's not boomy or way over the top.

Testing on the ipod 80gb there also seems to be background noise but I cannot hear the hard drive spinning etc like I have seen someone mention further back in this thread. Sound quality wise it's sounding as good as it does through my pc.

All in all they took a while to arrive but I am pleased with them.

As a newbie... in simple terms is it worth my while doing the whole burn in thing? Amps Amps Amps, head phone amps, since I spent money on good quality head phones what difference will a amp make for listening through a ipod or my pc? Will it stop the noise I am hearing.

....Just a note as I seen it mentioned a few pages back
My live wires came with the newer black cables, they look very smart.

The last post just said "newer black cables".....

Do you mean to say that the connector is no longer that gold color?

Can you post pics?

THANKS!!!

Arrgggh, sorry

My mistake, for some reason I was thinking these used to come with clear cables, god only knows why. I have been lacking sleep recently and my heads all over the place remembering things as I have that much on lol. It was black connectors I saw mentioned as you said, grrr I need to remember to double check things lol

No, these don't have black connectors my mistake, sorry for getting everyone excited.

Hi thanks for your thoughts will put mine up soon (but suffice to say me likee).

Before you consider an amp for your iPod what bitrate/format are your tunes currently? Depending on the answer you may be best served by upping the quality there first

Kosmic: I spoke with John, today. He saw the images and saw that the right side is too big. I'm getting a new impression taken of the right ear tomorrow and sending it to him for another go.

Will advise.
