Livewires - California Dreamin' - Page 225

not really long at all.... i was told it would take less than 2 weeks when speaking with John on his cell..
it has been only about 4 now....

But the thing that got me was that right after i sent my impressions in.. i tried to contact them to arrange for a color change... and to get some info for others that are on this tour to buy some too...
not one email was returned.. i sent 4 emails total.. and called.
I finally got the girl in the office and she gave me John Diles number and he basically blew me off.
And told me to TEXT him.... So i texted him. that was two weeks ago.. he has not responded. I have no idea what i will get when they are done...
So i don't know what color my ears will come in.. my original order. or the request to make the color change...that i sent in writing and a text.
I only have a tentative to receive them next week.. I DID receive the case and cleaning tool the other day though.. but i was told after speaking to the lady in CA that i will have my ears for my tour by the 6th of march. then she added " if all goes well"... if all goes well?
The other folks on this tour all have their ears already from other companies and we have been doing monitor rehearsals... i hope my mix does not differ al lthat much when the LW get here.. If they do.
By the lack of or near zero follow up i was wondering to myself if it was a real company . and did i just send my money to a black hole somewhere...
ughhhhhhh so frustrating .

When I ordered mine, from the Nashville office, I got them back within 2 weeks and was able to talk to Kathryn via phone or email. She always returned my calls or emails and always was knowledgeable and friendly. She ROCKS!

1. I had ordered a second cable (with resistor) that was not included.
2. The left/right connectors / cables are not marked, so I had to guess on the first try (and naturally got it backwards).
For the cables that I received from them, if you look closely, there should be a 2mm red sleeve on one of the cables... I missed it at first glance too.

I've seen the pictures with the sleeve, and also some with a red/blue indicator on the underside of the connector. But mine have nothing. Now that I've figured out which is which, I suppose I should figure out a way to mark them so that next time I have the connectors off I'll be able to get them back on without having to guess.

I've been watching this thread for a while so I thought I'd share my experience. I ordered my Livewires the beginning of January and received them this past Friday. Considering some of the other stories floating around this thread, that would seem to be record time even though it was a total of 7 weeks. I was hoping for good things but I'm now trying to decide whether to try for a refit or just return. First the fit - I know it can take more than a couple of days to get used to custom earphones but while they feel comfortable and seem to seal well once they're in, they are painful to insert. Both ears are difficult to rotate into place, like they're a little too big. I can eventually work them into place but doing so can really hurt, especially the right ear. I talked to other friends who have customs and while they said they took a little time to adjust, none of them experienced pain.

As for sound, I previously used a Shure E3 for ipod and stage monitoring and while the Livewires does seem to have more clarity in the placement of the instruments, there seems to be a slight cloud over some of the vocals and a slight cloudiness to the mid and upper range. Also, while the bass isn't lacking too much, I tried turning up the bass via the EQ on an Usher song and the sound started distorting even when the volume wasn't that loud.

I'm going to call Livewires tomorrow to see what my options are but thought I'd see if any of you guys have advice on how to proceed. Are my experiences with the fit/sound normal? Considering the long wait to receive my order in the first place, it's hard to want to go through a refit process when people are reporting a 3 month wait.

It takes a while to learn how to "twist the IEM" as you insert them, and it can sometimes hurt till you figure it out.

I've never heard a cloudiness over detail or distortion with mine if used with a clean source. Mine are very detailed clean and crisp sounding, and I never need to EQ the bass. I do know my iPod would distort with any IEM with bass boost, so I stopped trying it with anything.

After my experience with livewires it made me very wary of custom's from the budget companies since there is a big disparity with people getting them within and not within the stated time period and I guess livewires scarred that for me :/

My friend is a bass player out with a major label act.. his left ear with LW went down.. they got him a new Left ear pretty fast.. but it turned out to not be his impression.. wrong person, wrong size and didnt fit... the guy was out doing an arena tour too... i am scared now.. i have no ears and 3 days left.. But im keeping the faith....

ORDERED!! i'm stoked, after much deliberation i have decided to go with the LW's Red/Blue with clear faceplate. I'm a drummer and am expecting these to help save my hearing a little bit...

Catherine promised them to me within 3weeks (shipping to and from Canada) i'll let you know how it goes!

I really appreciate all the posts on here, you guys have a wealth of knowledge!!
