Livewires - California Dreamin' - Page 224

But our jack is in the middle, doesn't look that ugly (especially painted), and can be used up, or down comfortably, and even without memory wire, wraps around my ear very neatly, and comfortably...

Screw you alien ears!

Hi I am new to this forum.. I was over at talkbass.com and a friend on myspace referred me to this thread.
My story almost mirrors another persons recent story here.. And I joined just so i can post my delema. Hopefully someone (John Diles) will see this and get his Customer Service together...

I am a pro touring bass player and ordered Livewires through a recommendation by another pro touring bass player friend of mine.
I did some research before putting my order in to livewires but most of that research was only in the way they fit and sounded.. and in that category they seems to excel.

However it did not cover their CS Customer service.
From what i have read here in the past day seems that most of the poor customer service is coming from the California location.. There is also a NAshville location from what i recently found out.

I placed my order with John Diles and payed by personal check.. The check was cashed 2 weeks after they received it.
I had a few questions and a possible color change to my order..
I sent 2 emails to Johns personal email. waited a week no answer. He respond without answering my questions.
I sent another email two weeks later and still no answer.
I called John on his cell phone last week and never got a reply. waited a week and called agin yesterday without a reply.
Finally i called Sarah at the office in Cali and she said she would get back to me. she did today..
I am leaving on a tour on March 8th.. The sound crew and everyone else has another brand and have been doing monitor rehearsals for a week now. and i still dont have my ears.. I have gone to a pair of UM2s temporarily.. And when i get my Livewires that will screw up the levels in my ears so they will have to start all over.. not a big chore just a pain in the you know what.

I sent an email to them stating that I want my money returned and to return my impressions ASAP..
So Sarah from live wires leave a message on my cell that they should be able to get them to me by the first week in march.. mmm should be able to..
Only if there are no delays.
Im not holding my breath here.
I have never in my life gotten such a run around or the most terrible customer service in my life from any company..
The problem revolves around EarPiece and not live wires i assume..
If they do not have my my ears by the first week of March Im screwed since i would not be home to get them or do monitor rehearsal..
And by their shoddy CS i would not wish to have them try to FEDEX them to me whil i am on the road in Europe or wherever. they may never catch up to me.
What a mess.
All i want to do is cancel my order and get my impressions back with my money at this time.. Send them off to the Livewires in Nashville area since they are having about a 15 day turn around.. and you get to speak to a real person who is knowledgeable. Katherine over there seems great.

If i could get John Diles on the phone i would tell him to return my cash and i would go get the sensaphoncs that everyone else is using.. i am angry.. And if i get them on the date Sarah said i would. will they fit right?

Sorry to hear about your troubles. I don't see how the Nashville office is going to be able to get them done sooner since they use the same plant to build them. I am a big fan of Livewires, and one of their biggest proponents and positve posters about them, but I would make sure Sarah knows that if they can't promise NOW to get them to you by something like March 2nd or 3rd, that they must ship the impressions back today overnight. No "Ifs ands or buts".

I would not get Senasaphonics based on what everyone on head-fi is saying about the drop in sound quality with a redesign in the past year or two. Since you are on a time crunch for getting them before you leave, you could always get new impressions and try hearyourself.com which has a good reputation and make sure they understand your time issue. Or for a little more you could go with Westone, which took about 2 weeks for my ES3X, and you could get the less costly ES2 that everyone here loves so much (not sure of the ES2 price, but ES3X are $850). The ES2 will sound similar to the Livewires, which is quite good. I haven't heard the hearyourself.com customs, but I am told they were the manufacturer for my Freq Show music-makers 3-driver customs ($350) and the build quality is good and the sound is almost as good as the Livewires (from an audiophile standpoint).

Another TalkBasser!

Kirk, the only consolation I can give is that your bass will sound fantastic. I play a MM StingRay5 and it comes through beautifully. Blocks out quite a bit of stage noise.

Sorry to hear about all the delays. I had to hassle them too because I had a deadline. I'm pretty sure that we all agree that LW shouldn't be setting expectations for quick turn-arounds, but it seems like they're just overloaded. No excuses, I know--but if you can afford the time, hang in there. You won't regret it.

You won't regret it mate...hang in there!

Their old manufacturer actually went out of business, with my livewires in their factory. So after the horrendously long wait they offered to pay me new impressions (and shipping I assume) and to make me new headphones.

My audiologist now has an horrendously long wait time. I think when I get them back, I'll have spent 5 months with and 5 months without my headphones...

Has anyone ever had issues with broken livewires? I believe the subwoofer in my IEM has suddenly stopped working...

Nevermind - it was my silly headphone amp acting up.

Who told you that the old manufacturer went out of business?

Whoo Hoo! Just got my Livewires delivered today. Been listening for just under an hour, but my first impressions are positive. Fit / seal seems good. I'll need more time to evaluate (or get used to) the sound, but an initial impression, compared to my SF5pro, is that they have a little stronger mids, a wider soundstage, and I haven't had to keep fiddling with them get the right fit.

I do have a few issues that I will need to contact EarPeace about:
1. I had ordered a second cable (with resistor) that was not included.
2. The left/right connectors / cables are not marked, so I had to guess on the first try (and naturally got it backwards).

Timeframe: I placed my order Nov 26, 2008 and the impressions arrived at EarPeace on Dec 2, 2008. Total time was 12 weeks until they shipped. While I wish the turn-around could have been quicker, I knew going in that they were experiencing delays and so far my thoughts are that the wait was worth it.

I'm glad you got them, but I still don't understand what the delay was. The office in Tennessee isn't experiencing any delays and they are still turning them around within 2 weeks.

I was out of town on rehearsals... thank you for your reply..Im keeping my fingers crossed at this point in time..
I have been using my UM2 which sound good... But still waiting for my LW.
I spoke with a lady in the CA office and she said they could drop ship hem to me but i would be not getting my Case and Tools if i did that. but she offered to send the case to me separately after i asked.. And the case and cleaning tool did arrive yesterday...similar to the case that my UM2s came in which is fine. now all i need are the ears...

I did not know they Nashville and CA used the same lab.. from talking with them it sounded as if they used separate places... then i guess CA is just dropping the ball.. NV returned my call.. CA has not and left me in Email limbo.. If i had not done a follow up i still would have no idea what was going on.. They said i wil have them by Friday the 6th of march... I leave 8th on Sunday then return here a week later then go out again... if there is a fit problem , i will have no time to have it corrected before i leave.. ughhhhhhh
Im sure they sound great.. i just wish they would bet the Customer service stuff down. that alone can break a company real fast..

Just curious as to how long you've been waiting?
