I dunno...that's what the guy said on the phone. I don't really know who that guy was or if he was really in the position to tell me that. Like I said...I think his name was Art. Definitely wasn't John (Diles) or Earl (Neal)...all I got was the first name. I mean I guess it could have been Earl but my hearing isn't that bad, I hope .
If Art told you that then I would take that to heart. Art's a great guy that definately gets done what he says.

dissapointment! no livewires today. gave them a call, and they said they'll ship it out today... wonder how long now

i really want to buy these, but the notion of them being too sterile and lacking a lil more oomph (plus the possibility of mold not fitting) turns me off =(

Fit can be an issue with anything personalised - but it isn't for many and it's definitely worth the effort when you gte to it.

Synergise with an amp that'll deliver bass to them - I've used all the RSA portables with definitely no lack of bass - if it's in the recording you'll hear it through the Livewires.

fit is the blessing and the bane of custom IEMs - theres NO getting around that. i consider myself mitey lucky to have a good fit 1st around but its also due to a bit of research to understand what info is critical before going for the impressions.

i dont know where the impression that Livewires have weak bass comes from and i cant speak for anyone else but via my tomahawk, bass on my Livewires is thumping. not stupendous nor violently overwhelming mind u but its there in spades and very defined & articulate to my ears.

Livewires are NOT basshead cans for sure but instead i find it very balanced with a great sense of soundstage (much in the vein of a HD600). i prefered it over a shure E500 i hear albeit for only 20mins or so. if theres any criticism on my part, i do find the mids (vocals in particular) isnt as forward as i'd like but thats only due to my own preferences as theres definetly no issues technically.

Agreed to description of overarching importance of fit.

Agreed to bass being quite balanced with RSA Amps. It's not so strong though on amps with less bass (e.g. Meier Headsix - still there but not as fat - some might describe the - relatively - thinner bass as being bass shy I guess?)

Surprised you find mids not as forward as you like when RSA amps are noted for more forward midrange/vocals. I find them forward enough with all the RSA amps and Livewires. Just shows our different preferences with the same equipment

Agreed, and pair the Livewires with the Meier Headsix amp, and the mids are very juicy (that means forward and up front and intimate = good).

Surprised you find the Headsix thin on bass - and to my ears the Tomahawk is less forward than the headsix. Just shows our different preferences with the same equipment.

For those who are waiting for delivery of their Livewires...my turnaround time was 5 weeks. Had my impression taken at Castro Valley on November 10, and I received the Livewires on December 13th.

For anyone who is "on-the-fence" about purchasing Livewires...do not hesitate. Simply put, they are fantastic! This statement is coming from a person who has owned many of the top rated IEMS: Shure SE530, SE420, SE310, Shure E4C, Ultimate Ears Triple.Fi, Ultimate Ears Super.Fi 5, Etymotic ER-4P etc... While I will post a full review after more extensive listening, what I will state right now is that Livewires are the best IEMs I have owned . I would describe the sound as the detail of Etymotic ER-4P, with a nice bass presentation (lower frequency) and mid range warmth. In fact, I am so pleased with Livewires that I just cancelled my pending order for Westone 3's.

An added benefit of Livewires is the customer service provided by owner John Diles. I have exchanged several conversations with John, and in addition he has always been thorough and called me back (if I leave a message). Should you have any questions about the product, give him a ring.

For anyone who has specific questions, please do not hesitate to PM me...

Happy Holidays!!!

maybe its cos im used to the wayyy upfront mids of my AT W5k and now...the Ultrasone Proline 750. for whatever reason (im guessing S-Logic here) the PL750 also throw the vocal wayy up in the frontal lobe almost to the front of the head. comparatively the Livewires to my ears, pales in this aspect.

on another note, hey headphoneaddict how ya liking ya new PL2500s so far? do u hear similiar soundstage characteristics im hearing?? so far Mikey likes...
