Livewires - California Dreamin' - Page 203

John says it is not worth it unless the hiss is really bad. It puts a film over the sound he says.

Maybe buy a cheap cmoy/amp to give you better volume control?

Hiss on mine was bad, so i upgraded my player instead of getting the cable. Would be interested to try its effect with an adaptor though.

I have a GoVibe-Petite with DAC from Jaben. The volume is 0 at say, knob pointing southwest, and it is too loud with the livewires when it is turned to west. I'll try to do more precision exercise with my fingers then. haha

and gain settings should be on low right?
Hmmm, too loud on effectively 0? Low gain is the best, but when i got my BSG cmoy to work the other day, i fiddled with the jumper and pins, and IRC high gain sounded better Low gain generally though, especially for volume.

And I think mine came through Tax free, but mine were a gift/sample. When i am back at my mums on Subday night i will dig out the pack they came in and tell you how they marked it. If you ask for them to do as i tell you, you should be ok, the problem will be hoping they remember to write a note!

Yeah, low gain on IEMs unless it has a pretty high impedance like the SA6 or ER4S.

Do check the internal gain jumper of the GoVibe Petite to make sure it's low gain.

Yeah I did that quite a few times before. Its quite troublesome to open it up and change the jumper settings, and quite time consuming to A-B to see which setting is nicer.

And guess what? My alan key's hexagonal shape smoothed out exactly on/after I screwed in the last screw, "locking" the petite to low gain until i get a new alan key...

Who was it that reviewed the Livewires a while back, and tried several different resistor sizes himself (before a 50 ohm cable was ever available), and he had found the 50 ohm actually improved the music while the P>S adapters made it worse?

The P>S is approx 75 ohms resistance so maybe they're that sensitive. I'm not sure if different resistors/leads would have an affect on the SQ, but no ones complained about the Ety lead to me. I'm a little concerned that without resistance they'll be too sensitive for sources with normally acceptable hiss.

Also if I want a D2 then I'll need resistance to counter the bass rolloff.. I could use resistors between the D2 and an amp and hope it doesn't have the same veiled effect. I've almost given up on hoping for a decent player with line out before I turn my attention to a new DAP.

Has anyone else had trouble contacting Earpeace? I've emailed both sales and John Diles recently and I've had no reply.

Finally my Livewires came back to my home yay!

It took a month to fix initial failures, but anyway, it's time to enjoy them.

Killer Rig!

Bit too big for my liking, and im not keen on ipods, however the pico and d2 would sound pretty good, same size too, and i would love a better dac. At 15 i could never justify pico money though, especially if i hadnt heard one first!

How would you rate the Livewires against your Triple.fi 10's?

I'm currently considering my IEM choices and the Livewires, Triple.fi 10s and future Westone 3's are in the line up.

Livewires problem!

The driver came out of where it's supposed to be! It's not connected to the canal anymore! I sent a e-mail to "support" yesterday... are they any good?

I might ask for a recoating on both sides too... they have been getting a little loose..

Just saw Skylab giving away a Storm 3 headphone amp. Saw it on ebay for $100 when looking for pics.

I see Livewires in his advert!

Shame the amp has gone, amazingly small i think, and fully metal!
