Livewires - California Dreamin' - Page 198

I've had mine for ~1 week.

I'm actually starting to hate the closed-in sound.

I think I'll go and return it.

They issue a full refund, right?

They have your impressions , you can either waste your time worrying about all the things that could go wrong OR you could get your girlfriend to give you a BJ. If you don't have a girlfriend you could spend your wait time looking for a smoking hot girl to become your girlfriend and give you a BJ.

Either way, you won't have time to worry about your FreQs.
I'm staying in Malaysia, it is so far abroad, everything I've paid is considered costly in Malaysia currency, especially just getting an custom IEM, many ppl here might think that I'm insane getting stuffs like that. They might just think they are worth $50.

this is really personal, it is your decision anyway. But I wanted to go for Livewire as it is ultra portable, I can achieve stunning SQ audio on the go, and it is a custom, so, I hope my complaint about my discomfort with my Ety er-4p will go away.

My first impression to IEM was how detail I can get for such a small earphone, and I actually enjoy the "close in" sound as you describe, and I don't mind to compromise that as I've total privacy with these things. And in fact, I can feel that it is really not that closed in and I can get a little bit of soundstage when getting use with them, maybe it is the details of the really good separation of sounds that creating a "virtual" soundstage? I'm not sure.

Why not u give it a chance and try to get use a little more with it? It took about 3 weeks before my mind tell me it is really really good, and I prefer it over bulky headphones actually, and I can bring it everywhere I want. Hope I can convince you a little.

I'm not sure how serious did you mean to the previous post, maybe it was me that took it wrongly and didn't understand it was just your humor act, anyway, I will remove what I wrote to you, I didn't mean to being harsh to you too. I felt much better now. No worry bout that. We are all hear for the Livewires right??!!!

BTW, the livewires didn't make be much worries, I'm ultra excited of getting it actually, but I was just dissappointed that I didn't get any confirmation from them, and hope you and the rest in the forum understand how I feel, it is very inconvinient if things happen like that, I'm staying so far abroad, and making a call to them is costly too, I wrote to them and they didn't reply, and it will be very troublesome if they really didn't receive my impressions. If it really happen, I need to spend money to remake the impressions, costing money for the shippings and so on. And bare in mind what I've paid just for the process of getting the impressions done was considered quite expensive in Malaysia currency.

Seems like all we have done lately is hear people complain about unreturned emails or slow processing time. If you had great service and love your LiveWires and you are still around the forum - say eye!

If you have come here to get an indication of what to expect and the value of the product - as a musician, using these in live performance every week, rehearsal every week, my monitor has to sound great...and it does...It's LiveWires. They are a small company that probably didn't expect the demand for their resonably priced product. If you don't get a response from email as quickly as you expect - be thankful...they are probably working on your IEM's If you absolutely have to get information from them - pick up the phone.

One suggestion - because I know they monitor this forum - You might think about using skype as another cost effective means of communication especially since so many of your customers are overseas.

I had excellent service from the Livewires since Day 1.

The Livewire's service was overall superb, and I still recommend them. But so far I've tried about 4 different IEMs and have been having fit problems with all of them.

I'm so pissed that I'm just thinking of pushing my budget a little to buy a Denon 1000 with a good amplifier like SR-71 or Predator.

I don't think the Livewires sound any better than my sister's RE2s, which I have a fit problem with my right ear. I was certainly hoping that a ~300 dollar IEM would sound MUCH better... not to mention my left ear doesn't fit and it hurts when I try to take it out (my right ear fits perfectly.)

I also HATE waiting!!

I am in the process of auditioning some custom cables that fit the Livewires, sent to me on loan from Steven Kelby, and I think he has a winner or two here. I am spending more time trying to put some hours on these, and after I am done and have discussed all my findings with him, then I will share some results with you guys. The stock cable is not that bad, but each of these cables has something to offer that the stock one doesn't. Stay tuned, and no PM's about these because I am not letting the cat out of the bag till I am ready, and then I will post here.

I had the stranded silver, lovley cable, but i didn't like the fact that it gave me even more bass, but took a bit of the sparkle i love in my highs. I want an even better balanced (like stock) sound from a steven kelby cable.

Apparantly i will have another one to test sometime

And i sent the one i had to someone in Denmark last saturday, dont know their forum name, let me know if it has arrived please!

so good to hear that! Especially when my Livewires is in the process, cant wait to get it soon. BTW, I'm also in the plan of making a custom cable for my Livewires. I read a lot of how to make affordable audio cable from pure silver wires. I've ordered 28AWG pure silver wire from a eBay seller, and also odered some teflon tubes and necessary parts to get going with the custom cable project. Some of you especially Steven Kelby might suggest me to go for 30AWG, but due to availability and some other reasons, I choosed 28AWG.

The cable will be intended to use at home, I don't think it is suitable for taking out on the go, but still, need to see the end result before I will decide it can be taken out. But what I'm intending to make will be for sure a lot more bulky then the stock cable. I will show result once I've made it too.

Wicked, i may make my own if i fall in love with a wire, anyway, the connectors steve offered to sell were not very costly, so even if it went wrong it wouldnt be the end of the world, and it would be a good experiance, and to show my dad you can actually make nice cables that people here will actually pay money for.
