damn, wished they were LW.

Also it looks like the keyboardist is using some Freqs but with white faceplate, the bassist has a black faceplate, but the guitarist and drummer have clear IEM of some kind.
The connector and memory jacket thing you mention is also the same as Westone custom IEMs as well, I believe. Westone does offer a black faceplate option, and it seems more logical that they would go with a more established company in Westone than The FreQ, but you never know.

I think the picture of the cable on the drummer's back from a couple pages back in this thread also look like the Westone custom ES2 cable.

Here is a side-by-side comparison of the clear Westone ES2 cable and the cable on the drummer. They look identical to me:

What a difference personal taste makes! I had terrible experiences with Zune and switched to ipod. http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f15/im...e-80-a-352781/ (page 3)

Tomorrow marks the 1 week point since fitting @ their Castro Valley facility. When I asked about lead time, John's lovely (and I mean lovely) assistant said 3 weeks, but he told me they should do better. Of course, some people round down while others round up.

It'll cost me about $20 in gas to do a will-call, but it's worth it to me to have the expert right there to test fit and function. Since only ~ 5% come back for refit, it's a fairly low risk of disappointment.

2 weeks, 3 weeks, 4 weeks, 6 weeks and so on. Sigh, but John did tell me in the phone that his lab can manage about 2 weeks now, thanks for the comforting John!

BTW, I've just wrote in to them about my additional requests such as:
1. I prefer deeper canal if I've the choice
2. to remove the name tag
3. and to choose the best pairs of the ear impressions from the 2 pairs I've shipped to them.

They replied me just overnight, and told me they have written my requests down and put them into their "expecting ear impressions" box, so hope everything goes as expected.

I don't mind waiting longer, what I've concerning are the fit issues, and they didn't follow my requests and so on, that will be a mess when I receive them with the problems, I'm from Malaysia, it is gonna be really troublesome if things happen like that. Hope they are perfectly efficient with so many orders.

Hi, here are my ear impressions, these were from my second visit to another audiologist, I'm very happy with these comparing to the previous ones which were kind of mess to me.

The first audiologist I first visited was kind of strange to me and she didn't seems to care about my concern of following the instructions properly, I insisted opened mouth, but she didn't seems care about it and told me that was very old method. The worse was, the impressions were made by her assistant, and out of the surprise they keep failing making a proper one for me, ended up 8 ear impressions were made! Also, they never wait long enough for the material to set, in a rough guess it was about one minute, yes, I'm pretty sure it is not more than 1.5 mins! At the end, she chosed the best 2 pairs for me, and adviced me to send all for the technicians to choose the best. But I was very doubtful, luckily it was very cheap, they charged me only about USD$6 for all!

I decided to go for another audiologist located in one of the top private hospital in Malaysia, I didn't intend to care which best hospital to go, but just in the coincident I found this hearing aid specialists and they are located in this hospital. They are charging a lot more expensive, but not the most expensive in town, which is about USD$20, mind you, $20 is a lot for ear impressions in Malaysia currency, and the worse was, I've spend everything in total of about USD$60 plus the fastest and cheapest shipping method I've prefered! That is really a lot in Malaysia currency! But I don't care as long as I get everything done in best quality possible as it is still within my budgets.

I'm really happy with these impressions, and they actually offered me 2 pairs too as they said this is their standard procedure to make 2 pairs for their customers. And out of the 2 pairs the specialist had made for me, she never fail any in the process. And I told her about the bad experience and this is my second try, she completely understand that, and I requested her that I really don't mind to wait at least not less than 5 mins, and it must be opened mouth, and I brought a kind of bite blocks by myself. So, at the end, everything was done according to the instructions at best. And my ear was absolutely cleaned and well prepared before I did these.

These impressions should reach Earpeace latest by next Tuesday 9th of September! Can't wait to hear from them soon!

i don't know if it's appropriate to ask this here...hehe
it's more a technical question.
i want to clean the tubes of my LiveWires...but then the cleaning tool *wires* can't reach far enough...and i'm wonder...if i can use....a small little vaccum cleaner for these tubes? to suck out whatever is in there? or it's a bad idea? haha , cus i might suck out the 2 Drivers in there? Please do give some suggestions , thx you!
Also , if none is working....do you guys think it's reasonable to send it back to EarPeace to help me clean it?

call them!

I believe you are safer off by asking them directly on what you should do.

I won't feel safe doin that, we are not sure how sensitive or fragile the elements inside the drivers. If yours are with transparent shells, you can easily see how deep the tubes are right? And you can easily get something else longer to clean the tube gently.

Ever consider using a pipe cleaner? (one of those twisted wires with fuzzy stuff on them you get at craft stores)

Why didn't these companies do something like Etymotic ER-4p filters, it is removable, changable, and at times I didn't change them actually, I remove them and soak in soap water to clean them! This is really convinient on the other hand giving very good protection to the drivers.

@tiyako : i had a huge chunk of earwax in mine that wouldn't come out, so i tried using a paperclip (cuz it was in so deep). Unfortunately, instead of helping me get it out, I suceeded in pushing it in way to far to reach. So basically, just be careful when you're in there, cuz now i have a chunk of earwax sitting in the bottom of my livewires :-(

I've E-mailed Mr.Diles about the problem, and hopefully i'll get a reply soon.
I'll let everyone know once i get an answer. Hope we can clean it ourselves instead of sending it back. I can't part with my LiveWires more than 2 days max.

also, Ezzieyguywuf , does the blockage affect your sound quality at all? do you need to send it back for cleaning?
