But they guys are really nice about it, and Art is very good!

I don't really hear much of anything with my LiveWires in except my heart beat. I can ride in my truck with the window down and just barely hear the wind and road noise. Around the house I am always having to pop one out to hear my wife talking to me. If you hear yourself type it shouldn't be very loud at all. This all without music playing.

The suction feeling sometimes makes you feel like one side of your head is pushing in. Music seems to sound better when I adjust the LW's a little to not have as much of the suction feeling but I still have plenty of bass and low end.

I should be getting my impressions done soon, and ordering them around may-june. Just a question, what is a good 200-250 amp, new or used?
Okay, so I am going to buy these through TTVJ soon, but I don't get the ORDER (as in, number order, not pushing the "Buy" button ).

Is this the right order I'm supposed to follow?

1.) Buy them on TTVJ
2.) Get ear impressions
3.) Include the order form (on Livewires site) with the impressions when I ship them out, telling them what colors I want?

Thanks a lot for the help!

EDIT: Oh wow, how embarrassing. The ordering procedure is on the second page of their "order_form.pdf."

But if I'm ordering from TTVJ, that should change up the instructions somewhat. Has somebody ordered from TTVJ before with the Livewires?

With music off i hear less, but in a noisy enviroment i have to crank the sound up to 4-5 / 25. I used to use my ER6i's at 13-14, but these are much more sensetive, so its hard to compare.

But i dont know how loud is safe, so maybe i just listen at a low volume compared to you guys?

I have no suction seal unless i push, when i push i get it, but it goes within a matter of seconds. With the suction seal the seal is great, but its hrd to get.

When i open my mouth or relax my mouth the "seal" doesnt break, so i thought my fit was good, however if i dont have the suction seal, i cant say i loose the seal! If you see what i mean.

Redip, or remake with open impressions (no bite block just open as wide as i could sustain for 4mins) that i sent with relaxed?

Matt
This is what I call 'Lawnmower Seal'. For me this happens when I am on the Ride-On with Livewires plus hearing protection earcups over the top. If my seal is fairly fresh and I start mowing quickly sometimes my right LW gets just a little loose in the ear. The suction seal is just broken but it only becomes noticeable to me when a bassier track comes on and the bass is missing (after all there's a lot of distracting vibration and sound going on with the mowing that leads to the bass being the first part of the sound not being realised by my ears due to other sound over the top of it).

However once I have definitely noticed the lack of bass I get off the mower, reseal the LWs properly and resettle the hearing protection earcups before continuing to mow with a proper seal. Then all is g-o-o-d - well until the mower runs out of fuel or I run out of grass to mow .

Matt, I can understand you living with that slightly unsealed sound but it's definitely much better to ensure they can seal, and remain fully 'suction' sealed.

And, as an aside, with the 25db isolation they offer I can definitely hear some degree of outside sounds.

So you think i should get a refit?

Contact Livewires. See what they advise (they're certainly helping FMT with the help of his photos).

Do you really need one? I find there are some good headphone outs around nowadays (but I must admit I still find the better amps a step up in SQ compared even to these).

PM me if you want to proceed with a portable. I've decided to sell off a number in my collection and am getting the FS postings together.

I have, but John is away, and Art said he would reply early this week. I fowarded the email again telling John what i had been told yesterday, so i should get a reply of some sort soon.

Mine were complimentary though, so if i am at the bottom of the CS i understand, and am not bothered, but i want a better fit, as once ive go it, i should be fine until i need a refit in a couple of years. I think i will keep getting these refitted unless EP fail and/or shut down, which i doubt will happen soon.

I'm thinking the RSA Tomahawk for some reason...

But of course you need a proper source and cable to go with it!

Yes, that is part of my summer spending
If there is a lot of summer spending - I suggest mimicking my setup:

iPod -> Cryo LOD (from stevenkelby) -> RSA Predator or Tomahawk -> LiveWires

MarchingMule - is there any specific reason you are buying through TTVJ? I'd personally get it straight from LiveWires themselves, really streamlines the communication, rather than having to contact TTVJ for any issues, who will contact LW, then contact you again.

Think about it.

I am definitely considering a tomohawk, along with a cheap dac for computer use. But I will be getting a job, and I will not have many things to be paying for, so I figured a month or twos pay will be going towards a portable set-up, and a macbook.
Why not look at a Pico/Predator with amp and DAC, either will set you back around $500, or cheaper in second hand.

I know I am going to be selling one soon as I am getting a Pico this week, and I will compare with the Predator for who wins!
