I may be trading my ZVM and CX300's for an 8gb d2, and then selling the ER6i's for a 16gb card. YAY!

Considering the Zen isnt worth much around here anymore ($90-100) and there is a 8gb d2 up for $185, i am happy if this goes through.

After all, i can get the 16gb sd for £36, and i have £17, in my wallet, and £15 to come, and my average ammount in the bank, even after all the recent expenditure (urm. £350 laptop, £20 Livewires (haha)

No Hiss soon! And an explandable dap. Mmmm 32gb sd's soon? Haha.

Does this seem like a good deal to you guys?

Son of a crapper... I think you guys are gonna make me buy something I don't want to spend money on.

Im thinking of trading it, and they were the CURRENT PRICES, so im not actaully laying out $185, just as an example, as my Zen is only worth $90-100, so the trade is a bargain, as i really want the d2.

I have the rainy day money in the bank, so im not saving up, and i have £32 in my wallet anyway which i will not put in, as im not saving, so im £4 short of the 16gb card, and still have the rainy day money, and the player with 24gb i thought i could only dream about till Xmas!

The Clix is HOTT but not expandable is it? I love the screen. The expandabiltiy is a must have for me as since researching the d2, i have thought this unrestricted slot is fabtastic.

I will have 8gb internal + 16gb (stuck in a case on the back full of vids) + 32gb card when they come out, full of music, and overall, about 10-26gb (depending on ammount of vids, i may have a spare card stuck on the back) free after i lump on my collection which will be about 30gb then.

I have two inexpensive usb headphone amps I will start burning in and testing. The Behringer UCA202 U-control and Creative Xmod, both can be found around $40 and I've had them about 3 months but never bothered to take them out of the box

Ok, so im trading the 30gb Zen VM for the Cowon D2 8gb straight. The cowon is only missing software, manual, of which are both free from cowons site, and the stand and stylus combo, but av cable, and ac charger too.

I am going to buy his Transcend 16gb card for $72 too, which is the same cost as the one i found on ebay, but is the right class, and works with the cowon.

I am only £4 short of the money for the card, which i will have probably tomorrow, i mean its only £4!

Then i will sell the CX300's and ER6i's and 14 pairs of different tips for as much as possible to pay fo a Behringer U Control, and maybe a pair of Livewire sounding headphones, any reccommendations?

(Comfortable, and reasonable for gaming. Easy to drive through U Control, As cheap as possible.

HeadphoneAddict, can i connect an output (livewires) straight to the U Control? I dont need an amp right?, like i would with an alien dac. Will there be any hiss with the U Control?

I have about 5 hours on the Behringer U-control UCA202 and have tried it as a USB headphone amp with the Livewires and my SR-60. Do you want the good news or the bad news first?

Question:

Does anyone here use an RSA Predator with their LiveWires.

I find it's really powerful, and with the LiveWire's sensitivity I cannot put volume past 20%, so little nudges would make it uber loud.

I am using my LiveWires with a 50 ohm cable and the Ety P-S adapter as well, and it's tolerable.

Just did a nice 12 hours burn in of Fry Baby, White and Pink noise.

Fit Update:
Much better than last time. I did my impressions with a neutrel jaw position, but I find when I clamp my jaw the sound just becomes awesome. Isolation wise, still not what I expected, I get more isolation out of my TF10s and ER4Ps, but once there is music, it's all good.

Sound Update:
Wow, I can see what you guys were talking about! Whilst I expected a more fun, SF5Pro type sound, what I have is something I really enjoy - more crisp, clear and detailed sound. I am a ER4 fan, and I'd put the LiveWires in the same boat as them. I love the detail, and the shining highs, but at times still feel there is too much high, and not enough low. Still, it's a huge improvement from the previous two times.

Other:
Got them 1 day early, but LiveWires made a tiny mistake - they left the tag with my name on the LiveWires when I asked not to - no biggy.

So, the big question:

Was waiting 99 days from the day of my first impressions, till yesterday when I finally got the final pair, was that really worth it?

I use them with a Predator in low gain, and a line out dock, and don't have any problems with having to stay too low on the volume knob.

What I don't get is why I have such huge isolation from these, and you don't. I am typing right now with them in, and the iPod volume turned off with no music, and I cannot hear my fingers hitting the keys in front of me.

As for bass, I have enough that if I use my bass boost switch it is a little too much, and I have to listen without bass boost. With the ER6i or IM716 in HD mode they were unlistenable without bass boost on.

The bad news is the Behringer UCA202 U-control via it's headphone out doesn't sound as good as my 5.5g ipod video headphone out when using Livewires.

The good news outweighs the bad news.
