I cleaned my ears before i went and brought along the UE instructions but the livewires ones are fine. I had mine done open mouth and have no problems with fit but maybe i was lucky who knows, you can ask the audioligist what they recommend. They give you your impressions home with you and you post them to LW

Can anyone share experiences with stock vs. 50-ohm with Pico, Predator or comparable amp?
Personally i wouldn't want something that changes the sound of them as they are great the way they are, the only real need for the resistor is to reduce the amount of hiss you get with some players.

I have tried mine with numerous players including an ipod video, iMod, 3g nano, iphone and latest 2gb shuffle all of these had a slight amount of hiss that you could only hear when it was paused with the exception of the shuffle with which the hissing was so loud you could hear it while music was playing.

These sound pretty good out of my iphone HP socket, but of course sound a whole lot better out of the iMod rig So basically if you can budget for an amp then go for it, you wont be dissapointed.

Hi MChang, Welcome.

Some bite sized answers!

The consensus seems to be if you have your impressions taken with your mouth open using a biteblock the fit is tighter. The silicone impressions set quickly, so when the audiologist pulls them out of your ears they go straight into a box for you to send! (They should have a box for you to put them)

Thanks, all, for the answers! I've pinged adalyan (who was posting about PK1, but mentioned having LW, too) about his experience with both.

Busy day at work today. Hope to make an appointment with audiologist soon. I'll mention all of the suggestions above.

Thanks again!

Ok guys I got to speak to John Diles again. (what an honor!) He told me that the cotton stuff wasn't normal and to send them back as soon as possible. Also he wants a picture to see if they are in my ears correctly. and if the fit doesn't workout I can get impressions by his brother. Hopefully everything works out and I can keep my livewires. I am a very happy customer so far, their customer service is A+!

Hey! hey!........I got my LiveWires back today from having repairs on the stereo screen image. I have been listening for a couple of hours now and things sound GREAT! The lead vocals, snare drums, solo's and such sound dead in the middle of the stereo screen.

It has been quite a few weeks to get this repaired, but well worth the wait. It was my request that they take the proper amount of time to fix the stereo image, as I did not want to send them back for another go round. They said the lab was working closely with Knowels ( the company that makes the drivers) to get a matched set of drivers.

I have no hiss with my LiveWires playing from my Meizu M-6SL. I think if you have a player that uses the WOLFSON independent audio chip to process the music there should be no issues with hiss.

I'm happy!.........Have a nice day!

I knew that cotton stuff was a mistake in the manufacturing process. Good luck getting your (hopefully) final pair.
