I am deciding to wait to get a new pair of headphones and I think I am finally going to get some livewires. Going to go soon as possible to get impressions

Ooo, welcome to the family snicewicz! Do you know what colors you are getting?
Thank you, but Im not part of the family yet

I really like the black with the classic red and blue, but I am looking for pictures and ideas as we speak.

I figure I need something good for when I am in class, on the go, or golfing

edit: While looking at and filling out the order form, I think might go with black face plate and clear shells, not sure but definitely black faceplates.

Wow thanks Baines. is there any specific place in the Columbus, OH area I should go? Anyone know any good place round there?
No Problem!

I don't know, i'm in the UK, but don't wait up like i did, i waited about 4 months.

I could have had them for even longer than i have now, and i love them so much i wish i had!

Upon further review, even though it is common, I am going to go with the red / blue / black. I really like the way they look the best.

the only problem I have about waiting for the impressions is that the only day I have free each week is sundays. And unfortunately, most of the places here to get impressions are closed Sundays.

That will all change in like three weeks or so when the baseball season ends. So 2-3 weeks is the max I will have to wait .

I am truly excited, I am having my mom put the correct amount on my card as we speak. (I can't wait until I am in total control of my own finances)

Haha... are you serious? I would rather be in your situation, and have my mom pay for my livewires. Maybe you mean you can't wait to work, or make money for headphones....
No, I wish she was paying for them. But the problem is, they keep all of my money to make sure I dont spend it on anything stupid. I am just going to ask her to transfer my funds to my debit card so I can buy them because If I told her what I was getting she would say "Didnt you just get new headphones"

Ha I dont plan to get a job until I get out off college so I can definitely wait to work

Just a bit off mark, although what camera did you use for the photos here?
I'm after a digital camera so I can take all those really close up images and post away like everybody else.

Ear Peace cashed in my money 15 days ago but haven't heard from them yet! Hope I get them soon!!!!!

Matt, nice review, good job.

I think when you get around to buying your own amp, you could consider the minibox E+ because it has the P to S switch that might take out the hiss from the source (adds 72 ohm) - however it might hurt the bass a little and I was told the livewires prefer only 50 ohms added.

Does the Super Macro III you have include the "impedance" switch that you can try, or is it the switchless model? Maybe someone here will post what their PtoS switch does to the sound?

Also, the $39 Headstage USB DAC cable does a decent job, and doesn't have hiss problems. It didn't sound as good on my "el cheapo" PC as it does on my Mac, but I am told if you install ASIO4ALL driver and use Foobar to play music, the USB DAC's will sound much better with Windows.

livewires are very hisssy. straight out of my pc it is horrirble. I can hear it hiss and make noise even when the sound is on.

my amp doesn't have a DAC what can I do?

Livewires don't hiss! It's source matching.
