About the ordering, what's with the 50 ohm resistor? Does it come separate from the cable or is the cable modified to have a 50 ohm resistor?

If they're together, should I get it? I'll be using with Ipod 5.5g+turbodiabolicious+headsix
The 50ohm resistor is built into the cable itself. It will look like the regular braided cable.

I'm not sure whether I should couple my set with the 50ohm cable to reduce hiss because of the reported theory to change the sound signature of the IEMs.
I will wait for others' experience, though.

That's a good sign.

It's not the extra pair, that I have coming already, it's Lisnalees portable rig that I'm drooling over!

I have to remind myself I am a recovering audiophile.

FMT: Maybe you should go to the states for your spring break...CA more precisely! You probably could have gone UE with all the money you spent.

Maybe for your next visit just go to the UE facilities, get impressions done in house (which I think are free if you go to them), watch them make the IEMS and then fly home with them. Of course you would have to sell your whole rig...but Im sure there are things you can do without!

That brings up something I've always thought. There are lots of people with crazy rigs and amps and hundred dollar gold cables running to TF10s and SE530s. In my experience with amps and headphones and portable sources, a much better set of earphones (ie. UE10, or UE11) straight out of an iPod or something would easily beat the sound quality of the whole rig with the lesser headphones. I can't help but think some of those people prefer having all the neat gadgets with them.

I certainly prefer the sound of my iPod straight to my UM2s over iPod > LOD > Supermini > SF5P, for example.

Hey Guys

I need some advice now, should I:

a. Get my refund of the earphones and send em back and be done with it

b. Organise new impressions and try and get a new pair

??

I am leaning toward B, and for the fun side getting a new colour scheme as well (clear body red/blue faceplates).

Let me know

Filipelli: I wish, I wish there was a UE presence in AU!

Team Livewires Red/Blue/Black is getting bigger

Ok this is a dumb question but is their a special way to put these in your ear? and take them out?? I just want to be prepared and not feel like its impossible to put em in my ears.

I would suggest you take the refund option.
With LiveWires, plenty of patience is really required.
Also, it would be better you just call them instead of using EMAIL.
As I have said, their response with EMAIL really sucks.
You could try Skype or the like for the phone call. It's really convenient and cheap for international phone call.

I'm very happy with my LiveWires now, especially with Headphone AMP added. I mean it. Although the LiveWires could be easily driven by any portable players, it's potential
would not be released without a proper amp.
Now I'm using it with Ibasso D2 & AMB Mini3.
It's great. The bass extended to even the lowest level with full quantity but no less detail. The treble is clear but not a small bit piercing. GET a AMP for it, I mean it!

I have been using it in conjunction with a RSA Tomahawk, and no improvement on the piercing treble.
