sony 5.1 headphone vs dolby headphone

Thread Starter
Through constant research I think I have finally deduced the real difference between the Sony MDR-DS5100 and dolby headpone. Sony seems to simulate a large soundystem in a theater hall, while dolby headphone simulates a sound system in a room. So where do you want to hear 5.1 surround, in a room or theater. If you want a theater than sony might just fitt the bill. The difference may be more.

Just to add, dobly headphone has three different settings -- DH1, DH2, and DH3. I think that DH1 is "reference room", DH2 is slightly bigger and larger, and then DH3 is more concert hall sounding. I have DH (trial version) for Music Match Jukebox.. but I wish that they would release it for winamp, which IMO is a much player.

Yea, sfxjames, why not get something that lets you choose, like Dolby Headphone? And dolby headphone works GREAT with my Beyer 831's! It is AWESOME!!!!
