Klipsch Custom Series Earphones - Page 7

Won't be long now, guys! Unfortunately, the Custom-3s are a little delayed...possibly available at the end of next month. The other three models will be arriving very soon, and ready for purchase on klipsch.com!

I noticed on Klipsch's site that the Image model went up to the most expensive recently. Why is this? Can you tell me more about what the sound is like on that model? Does it surpass the SQ of the Custom 3?

Sorry if that has been covered before....

Hi Chris,
Actually, the Image model has always been on the higher end of the price spectrum. The design and technology behind them is what drives the value. They are amazingly lightweight and comfortable, and very, very small.

IMO, the Custom 3 are better sonically because of it's components, but I prefer the Image because of the comfort and ease of use (and they still sound superior to any others I've tried).

Hope that helps answer your question!

Have you had the chance to compare the Custom 3 sound to say, Shure e530?

I currently have the e500, because I just couldn't wait for the Custom 3... but there's a little something missing, that I'm very curious if the Custom 3 have.

Klipschgirl,

can you tell us to which headphones (or IEMs) you would compare bass, midrange, treble? For example the Shure E500 have good bass presence, the Etys have clear midrange presentation and sharp treble detail, and so on... it will help people picturing an idea of what they can expect.

Oh well no Christmas surprise for me...

Glad I got the Shures... no way I could wait that long.

Hopefully, the delay won't be the full two months, but I think he's making a conservative estimate. We'll just have to see how things go.
The other models are almost ready!!

i think the custom 3 will be a hefty seller given that we are all waiting too damn long for westone to pull thier finger out, ill certainly make a purchase. its going to be hard for me to compare then to the se530 and triple fi and heck even the ue10's because they are still dual driver.

i know that just because its dual driver it dont mean instantly poorer sound but what dissapoints me further is the image appears to have a more advanced driver or better quality (going by model number) so the drivers appear to not be the best available.

dual driver, mid quality drivers...i wont keep my hopes up that they will be a triple driver beater when we also consider the price. but... if they come and blow me away id like to shake your hand amy! thanks also for keeping us updated

Look out for me people, a head-fi delay curse is following me around!!!

First I was looking forward to the Westone 3's and now the Custom-3's and it's the only Klipsch head-fi model that gets delayed!

So, what will be the next delay...The Predator I assume... :P

Is there going to be a trademark dispute between Klipsch and Westone, as Westone is having a product called the Custom 3 as well?

As for the Predator being delayed a long time like Westone 3's? No way, I'd bet real money on it.

Wouldn't it be amazing, that the delay for both 3's was because of the name and not manufacturing problems? Whatever the delay, Klispch is expecting it to be resolved in a couple of months. So both, the Customs and the Westone 3 could be out soon???

I'll update the original post, too, but if you want to get a pair of Klipsch IMAGE, Custom-1, or Custom-2 (Custom-3 is delayed), the best time would be to order before November 16.

Why? See for yourself.
