Can you tell us the sensitivity level (dB/mW) of the Custom 3 IEM? Will it be very sensitive to hiss?

Amy - It looks like you have a wonderful product and it's from a well known company, funny how I do not see your company in the listing of Head-Fi sponsors. I see Shure, Westone, Ultrasone, Sennheiser, and I just saw a Bose ad, but nothing from your company.

Just to clarify, I believe the acoustic filters were some kind of electronic thing - to quote the Klipsch engineer:

"Part of our applied patent evolves around the low pass acoustic filter that is built into one of the two armatures. This give Klipsch greater control over the EQ since we can have two pistons, one optimized for bass and one optimized for full range."

Haha, funny, I actually quoted the same thing in the original post of this thread, except I quoted it a week ago when I first found it. But thanks for the repeat, I guess, for the other people who don't read the first post of my threads.

Somehow on Head-Fi, people never seem to read the first post of my threads. I probably put too much information in them...

Now that is funny Peter;-)

I have been emailing back and forth with Amy while trying to keep up with pm's from out here. A couple of people have thought that I'm with Klipsch but I'm just a consumer like most out here but I am a Klipsch forum member and owner of industrial LaScalla's.

As I have already mentioned I think the Custom 3's are going to put a hurt on both the E500 series and Westone UM'3's and I'm an avid UM-2 owner and fan:-0

Just like SkyLabs 24 amp post I don't know for us all IEM users if the unbelieveable battery life Tomahawk is not just the best all around amp, as you know or have read once broken in the Tomahawk is almost Indistinguishable from the Hornet and I'm pretty sure I read Skylabs comments about the Tomahawk being one of the very best available for the IEM;-)

thats what you think lol shure and westone didnt become famous earphone manufacturers by specialising in speakers.

this is where i think klipsch will fail. i mean they are great sound designers and so on but to nail earphones the experience may kick them in the ass, earphones have not been a priority for them so maybe they will fail...that is a maybe tho guys, these could be special

You are absolutely right Jinx they may and this is only my opinion but I don't think so as they never approach anything half heartedly to the best of my knowledge and I've been listening to their products for over 30 years now

It's like digital camera's, the best ones made come from none other than camera manufacturers!

I guess only time will tell for sure.

Well Jinx I almost replied that Shure started out making mics before the ever got into IEM but they have been at it much longer than many of the others and both my pairs of current Shure IEM's E2's and 3's have a distinctive sound as opposed to my UM'2's and Ety 6I's (Shure sound at least to my ears are very warm

I also understand many peoples feelings of Klipsch members being baised but my LaScalla's run in a secondary system for me at home on an all tube based setup as my reference system (see profile) is B&W Nautilus 804's driven by a BAT SS VK-200 amp. I figured out in short order the portable IEM/amp world can be just as nerve racking as the home system world you just have to settle sometime or you'll spend more time buying and swapping out gear instead of just enjoying all you music

I'm looking forward to getting both the UM'3's and the Custom 3's as I'm now almost up to 3 pods (2nd Gen Mini, U2) and I've got a new 8GB Nano coming for my birthday next month (figured out what the little woman was up to after she asked me what color I like!) After reading SkyLabs 24 amp thread I would like to try a couple other amps but since I'm mainly an IEM man on the portables it's seems the Tomahawk here is tough to beat in an all around!

I lurk out here most the time as I find Head-Fi to be a plethora of info into music on the go

Wow... Klipsch making headphones? Awesome!

I have had some of the older model Klipsch Promedia 5.1 speakers hooked up to my PC for a couple of years now, and I love em!! Let's hope the headphones are just as good

Oh, I love that orange/bronze colouring on the Custom-3's Reminds me of the RP-21's...
