Arietta

a question to SKYLAB - do you have experiance listenning arietta/cantate with grado (225)?

would it be a good match for the 32ohm impedence grado (enough current)?

your opinion about the synergy (I'm a metalhead)?

can cantate handle lower impedence better than the arietta?

Thanks

I have no experience with Grados and these Meier amps, but they both handles the 25 ohm Denon D5000 very well.

My Grado listening indicates that while I luv Meier amps with several of my 'phones - I did not like them paired with Grado.......a sidelight -right now using an ASL amp w/NOS tubes for Joe Grado HP-2 and a pair of Alessandro MS Pro.....prefer one set of tubes with them, but my Beyer dt880/600 were better with another tube pairing in that amp (IMO).......Plugged the Grado's into an HA-2 and again, no cigar for that mating.

Great review Skylab! Thanks you very much... I really seduced by Opera. Don't know how long i will resist.
Also, i have a question-can you post some pics of disassembled Opera ?

Thanks for the kind words. I'm sorry that I cannot post the pics you seek - I no longer have the Opera since I have gone all tube

@ QQQ

Some details of an opened-up Opera can be found here:Opera

yawn...opamp follow by buffer...how is this better than PPAV2 or M3?

I think designers who use opamps are just lazy; and those who use off-the-shelf buffer instead of building their own FET/JFET driving stage are super lazy!

opamps and off-the-shelf drivers should ONLY be used in gain/driver stage where cost (think cheap DVD players) and temp is a factor.

IMO Opera is a major ripoff compared to M^3 wrt to audio performance only.

But does laziness produce worse sound, or just moral indignation among bored audiophiles looking to stir up trouble?

I was capable of telling all the thing from Aria by first 5 minutes listen. My Little dot MK3 can even beat it in most of espects. As you said that you wouldn't sell the old one for Cantate. But why?

I'm sorry I do not understand your question - can you clarify?

Thanks.

Sorry for the confusing state. I mean, if Cantate is better than Aria in every espect mentioned above why still keep Aria rather than buying a Cantate instead of. Is there anything which Aria has attractive?

I didn't keep the Aria - I sold it and kept the Cantate (for a while, although I now use only tube amps).
