Denon D2000 Loose Screw Poll - Page 2

I got mine second hand and have no idea when they were originally purchased. But the right screw did come out. Turned out to be an easy enough fix.

Well people sure aren't answering the poll properly. Several people here have said the screws have fallen out, yet there is only 1 vote on the poll for a screw coming out.

The D5000 must have a better cable (7N) than the D2000 (6N) because I don't hear of nearly as many people recabling their D5000 as I do with the D2000.

I'm beginning to think there is nothing that these D5000 can't do. They haven't ceased to amaze me yet. With the arrival of my new Go-Vibe V7 (which is a real contender among higher priced amps, see the amp section, Norm got this bad boy right), the transparency, detail, and presence has increased three fold. And I'm still using my iPod unmodded as a source. Honestly, I never thought the iPod had this much clarity to it. It was the other amps that were getting in the way.

I would like to do an iMod, but I don't want to do my 30 gig. I want more storage. Is Vinnie going to do the iPod Classic, or has he permanently decided to abandon those?

Vinnie is not modding the Classic.

Besides the potential of a loose screw with an easy fix, how is the build quality? I'm more worried about broken plastic or things that are less fixable if I'm going to drop 350 on these things...and I'm really about to.

Bought mine in late Jan. Both earcups have become loose and had to be tightened.

I realize this is an old thread, but I had one screw break, Denon sent a replacement and that screw later unscrewed and fell off (the second one may have been my fault since i was the one who put it on). :-(

I picked up my D2K's last year and don't have this problem.

But anything with screws or bolts will have the possibility of backing off or becoming loose without proper maintenance.

Yeah, I bought some stuff at Ace Hardware and rigged it up myself. I may go ahead and do the other side too. As flimsy as those screws are, its bound to break eventually.

Loose screw here a year after owning them, super-glue, re-tightened, and haven't happened again since.

The screw on one side of mine just came off tonight. Here looking for solutions. I bought them 15 months ago, they get used pretty much daily. I have them in my well-padded back pack 5 days a week to work, and often listen to them again in the eve. Love 'em.
