You don't expect too much of build quality out of a $50 phono stage. It's descent for an entry level setup. I have this unit along with NAD PP-1. I think you're alright with it, or a used unit of NAD PP-2 if you can find a used unit.

You might be alright with any one mentioned above until you escalate the analog ladder.
