The mechanic behind those switches, and that makes those swiches expensive, is not the mechanical connection of the audio tabs, rather than the rotation of the shaft and the mechanical steps, having a more solid and robust mechanical switch, gives you the feel of being better (indeed they are, but mechanically) but soundwise other cheaper alternatives are very good as well...how many manufactirers use the DACs, very few, too expensive, and also too bulky...if cost is not a problem I would use them as well, and if I get one cheap that I do not like the switch, a relacement will be one of those...
Also if I found one expensive unit that really is waht I'm looking for, I will get it, non of those are what I'm after, I just want a single rotary switch, with the jacks, in a black aluminum anodized box...
