Have y'all noticed that some AKG K1000s come packaged in a black wooden box and some come packaged in a natural color finished wooden box. Why the difference? Does anyone know why? Is there a difference in the cans?

I think the natural look in the K 1000 means that it's a late model unit. The natural box also didn't have the chain on the left side of the box. Instead it has a slide locking mechanism to hold the lid up.
I personally don't have the old model to test with but I think the only difference is the box.
