Ever any chance of the K1000 returning to production?

i know this has been beaten to death -

but even the used market is limited - so is there any info suggesting AKG may return this piece to production?

The reason for their end of production was not just their questionable profitability, it was also because the tooling mechanisms which manufactured the headphones were at the end of their life expectancy. Thus it was decided to end production instead of building new manufacturing. Theres no chance of re-production before a new machine apparatus is put together.

K1000 must be a cursed model designation. Pentax killed off the iconic K1000 not long ago.

The K1000 will never, ever return.

You might see some more jecklin-inspired k1000-alike designs in the future, though.

Actually AKGs is working on a sucessor:

It's not 100% sure but I believe it. The guy I talked to had that kind of sparkle in his eyes.
