Wow
Don't see/hear much about some of those brands. Good find.

BTW is it just me or is there something strangely perverted about
seeing dolls with headphones......hmmmmm.

Woah! I didn't know Marantz and NAD made headphones! (I don't think they do anymore). And Radioshack/Realistic made electrostatics?!?

Yes, they did, in the middle 70's. I owned a pair, bought new for about $89 (1975 dollars), as I recall. After a year of happy listening to them, I was able to bring them to a store for comparison with Stax SRM-X's.... I bought the X's that same day. I still have them around the house, somewhere - they turned out to be darn durable.

The RadioShacks were rather pretty, with a smooth response, good bass, and by the standards I had at that time (e.g., Maranz tuner, Hegemann 1 speakers...), they were musical. However, comparison with the top-end Stax of the day was no contest, because of the Much better detailing of the Stax...which nothing else of that day could match, or approach closely.

You _have_ to pull them out and listen to them again. I want a review, I want a review! L, I want them, but somehow, I doubt that's an option...

Oh, yeah, those 1975 prices, I miss them very much.

Also miss those speed limits.
