I don't even know if I consider that sarcasm or not.
Not only did she fail as an entertainer, but terrible lip-syncing just kills the deal. A family member told me that after this, another show of hers was canceled, and another one didn't want her because she would refuse to practice.

a lot of promoters who put concerts together have "sound check" clauses in the contracts they give for artists. each one is different but the basic idea is to make sure the show is not a complete mess so the Promoters don't have to issue refunds...
Spears is a great performer on stage esp at the VMA's. i was at one of her sound checks when she toured here..i didnt see her on stage but she did walk by me (i came in before she went on and left before also). i was standing to the left of the FOTH where she walked past me to talk to one of the sound guys. she was really into her performance then but that was way back when she first made it.
She did not practice the routine from the looks of her dancers guiding her along. if you don't know where to stand or worse yet, what moves to do when then i guarantee you will look just like she did. your mind is thinking "where do i go?" instead of caring about the lyrics your singing. she had a lot of dancers around her and if she made one wrong move then she could run into or trip one of them..that's something a lot worse then what she did on that stage. also please remember the vision an artist has on stage is close to Andrea Bocelli's cause of the blinding hot lights on your body and spotting on your face.
What she should of done (and lots of artists are told to do this if they forget their moves or completely phase out) is walk at the very front of the Stage and sing on without the dance moves involved. this way she could of at least looked like she was singing and still be at a safe distance then the dancers behind instead of being in the middle of her. when ever you see a show and out of nowhere the artist walks to the front tip of the stage this usually is why they do.
the lip singing part is just a back up DAT that mostly EVERY artists uses for tv performances these days. The back dat is voiced way behind her mic but just in case it can be turned all the way up if the sound guys feel the artist is in trouble with the singing. i would think mtv did a direct DAT to TV either way from the start, live it could of sounded much different..probably did at least at the beginning.
i prefer skinny ladies mostly cause i am skinny but to be honest she looked good. she had some size to her but she still looked toned and not having rolls on rolls. looks like she worked out to firm up a bit weeks before the show.
but when your at the top...like she was/is then you must practice and practice for a show like that. it requires more work the higher up you are..
was it all that bad to me? Yes...she should of known that routine like the back of Chris Angels hand..
