Yes, I think so.  I started reading it because I wanted to know what amp went well with DT880s.  I may be back in the market for a pair of Beyerdynamics soon.

 

Conventional wisdom with the Beyers used to be the Audiovalve RKV MKII, which is an OTL tube amp.  http://audiovalve.info/nav/rkv_en.html 

 

Also Meier amps as someone else suggested.  But they used to have 2 headphone jacks, 0 and 120 ohms, which was on reason they may have paired so well.  Only the top of the line Meier has the 120 ohm output jack now.  T

How about your opinion, best pairing amp one for your DT880?

Right now i use lafigaro 339 5998 tube for pairing dt880 600 ohm. Very smooth presentation, wide open, deep and natural.

As my experience try pairing my dt880 with ss amp, lost that musical taste and sounds to stiff.

Hi, I'm using DT 880 with Maverick A1 Hybrid Amp. It sound good no complaint.

I'm expecting a Mini 3 amp in the post over the next week or so I can get the DT880's 250 premium for a VERY good price atm, you think I should snatch these up and see how they sound? I'm going to be buying myself a Matrix Mini-i and a Little Dot MKVIII tube amp around Christmas time I should hope
