What I meant was in relative terms. If you play Amnesiac and OK computer to the average listener, I'm sure they would get into OKC before they even begin to understand Amnesiac.

I have had several ppl burst out into laughter when I play them songs like Life in a Glasshouse and Like Spinning plates, when really, they are two of the most powerful songs on the album IMO. Hence the comment
Well that's probably true, but I think most people that like OKC like it for the soaring guitar solos and probably pay absolutely no attention to the finer details of the album. If you went purely by song structure however, I can see where you're coming from.

I love re-discovering albums. I hadn't listened to The Wall for over a year, well before I joined head-fi and got decent headphones. I decided to put it on other night, and it sounded amazing!

Anyway...

I have had Amnesiac for a few months now; I have yet to get through it. On a dark and stormy day (t-storms forcasted this week) I'll put it on. Thanks for the tip :-)

Speaking of Trent Reznor...I haven't put NIN on in a while either...

I love this album, my favorite Radiohead release by far.

I have always found this odd... maybe it's that I love radiohead so much, but it almost always puts me in a positive mood.

I think it's interesting to note that Amnesiac was the first Radiohead CD mastered by Bob Ludwig at Gateway Mastering. To me, Amnesiac sounds dark, shiny, and glossy. Like all of the songs are behind an artificial veil. Very dead in a certain way. I think it works for the album.

It's funny that you mention that. The song is titled "exit music (for a film)" and is in fact the exit music for the 1996 romeo and juliet remake (this song is on ok computer but was written specifically for the movie). if i recall correctly the music is playing during the final scene when juliet commits suicide

I think that Kid A was the bigger shock following OKC. Kid A kind of made way for Amnesiac. I really like both Kid A and Amnesiac, they do different things for me - and I have listen to these two far more the last few years than I have OKC.
