"Yeah, i'm able to buy a 30sec. ringtone which costs me as much as the whole song. Whhoiii!"
(I got a 2 year old Nokia, and i simply can choose every music file as a ringtone, for free....)

And the whole black-pullover-and-sneaker-thing is getting REALLY old.....
Crowds are almost hand-selected with the poshest of posh apple supporters. Im pretty sure even Gates when speaking of the most boring or ridiculous of stuff gets an applause cause everyone in the room loves him.

The pullover though I have to say looked as if he really either thinks thats the only thing cool in the world to wear or as if people actually still like to see it when he gets on stage. Who knows whats goin on his head, maybe its just his lucky pullover and he thanks all his sucess to it!

16GB is way more than enough for most people out there who use iTunes as their main source of music and who could care less about CD Quality. Basically, if you look at it from a consumer's point of view, the iPod Touch makes brilliant sense, and should sell extremely well in the few months before a new model comes out.

My friends may not be normal, but really 150ish albums these days isn't enough.

Now only if they came out with an Iphone that has no music playback (Zen Vision:M FTW) and is priced $100 less, that is what I want to see.

I'm listening to my new 3G iPod nano (8 GB) as I type this.

It's actually a lot smaller than you think--the device comfortably fits in your hand. Alas, the case does smudge rather easily, so I hope the case manufacturers have their new 3G nano compatible cases soon!

Sound quality is quite good on my Etymotic ER-6i headphones.

However, do be aware that they've changed some of interface features if you're using to the 2G nano. I do like the fact the album cover art displays now quite clearly.

How's the sound quality in relation to the 2g nano?

the ipod touch is slick but i can't imagine ever using the wifi or video. Are any of you watching video on portables? Are you watching on the bus/subway? When would anyone use the wifi? I'd really like to be able justify the purchase! Help!

Maybe some guyes won't agree with me but i think the new nano is just ugly.a way more uglier than the old nano. The video is cool,i know. The 160gig classic is great. I ve got a 30 gig one and beginning to feel there s not so much space. And even the battery,40 hours sounds quite well( i'm quite sure it won't be that much with backlight and EQ,etc ) and i quite like the design of the iTouch, but damn,16gb is just too little

I think the touch is a waste
spend the extra couple of bucks and get a iphone
e-bay your old phone and you might be ahead a couple of bucks.
flash based DAPs and cell phones are a perfect match
but if you really need all those songs then forget the touch and go for the 160gb
bottome line is current cheapo cellphone + 160GB
or
iphone
my wallet is hiding under the bed
oh and who the hell watches videos on their DAPs?
somebody should really make a poll?

I have a Zen Vision:M that I've never ever watched a video on. My wife has one too and I know that she has actually ripped a couple DVDs to watch on the go.

I also have a 4gb 1st gen nano that I like. I'm seriously considering selling my blackberry and getting an iPhone though. now that the price dropped, and the iPhone plan costs $10 less/mo than the blackberry plan, and it has a way better interface.

I think you'll change your mind when you see one for real (I'm listening to a blue case 8 GB model as I type this). That thing is amazingly thin, really easy to hold in your hands and has improved sound quality over the old 2G nano. Now, I hope the cases for the 3G nano show up soon!

I just picked up a new Nano- thanks for the tip Nick . Very cool. I'll stick by my previous prediction, people are being way too hard on this thing- already it makes the old Nano seem dated- this is going to sell like crazy. I really wish it had 16gb, but I guess I'll just have to wait and upgrade when they roll out the inevitable 6 month update.

I haven't really had a chance to listen yet, and I was going to take some photos but my wife has the camera, so someone else will have to do it.

I have no interest in the iphone until it's available on a decent carrier. I switched from AT&T/ Cingular to Verizon a few years ago, and I am never, ever going back.
