No, it's not. You can't mass produce turntables any more, because there's no demand for them. I think the cheapest you could do on a turntable is probably around $300-$400; compare this to the CD player you can get at K-Mart for $20.

Right now, most people who are getting into vinyl are looking at about $2,000 for a decent rig. If you're getting into audiophile territory, it's going to get even more expensive.

But you have such a nice system... it's almost a shame to not have vinyl when you're talking audiophile quality stuff like yours. It's like covering a Ferrari with spray paint. You're really not hearing your system's potential.

Just my humble opinion

its all good assume you have the time. I have recently found I used slim device as much as I use the CDP eventhough slim is nowhere near as good, but acceptable nevertheless; and that is all because I can just push 2 buttons on the remote and cue up the album I wanted ... maybe transporter is not too far in my future .......seeing I have no time to even dig out a CD these days.

Oyaide SWO-XXX receptacle--->Cardas Twinlink--->PS Audio P500 Power Regenerator--->Cardas Twinlink--->Opus 21 CD Player with Great Northern Sound reference mod--->LAT International IC-300 Signature balanced XLR interconnect--->Ray Samuels B-52 amp (powered with a Cardas Twinlink)--->balanced Sennheiser HD650 or Grado GS1000 or (occasionally) AudioTechnica ATH-W2002
Personally, I think you need the Cardas Golden Reference power cords in this system, (that's what I use). The Twinlink is a nice step up over a stock cord, but the Golden is a whole different league.

Not sure how much effect a good cord prior to the P500 would do since you're regenerating the power anyway, but maybe it helps?

Yes, it does! I tested it extensively and clearly my filter likes better cables as input. The better the cable, the better everything sounds after the filter.

OK, Good to know

For my speaker setup I have used a pair of Signal Audio power cords. To be honest I have never heard any difference. I think at the beginning I liked the stock ones better. Maybe I need to go back and check now after some hundreds of burn in.
