SOLD
Up for sale are my modded Grado 325s. I purchased these quite while ago and at the time they were basically brand new, never used old-school silver 325s (not the 'i' version). Since that time the cans have seen less than a hundred hours use and undergone a series of mods including replacing the stock Grado cable with ~7' of high-quality Mogami mini-quad cable and a Neutrik gold-plated TRS plug and replacing the stock aluminum housings with custom maple housings. I also replaced the stock grills as I do not care for the look of silver grills with wood housings generally and the black really seemed to set off the light-colored Maple nicely. Onto the important stuff.
How do they sound? I'd rate them better than stock HF-1s overall but not the equal of my modded HF-1s (which are also woodied). They have full, deep bass and the deeper wood chamber really seems to tame the rather harsh stock highs, the classic Grado mids are as sweet as ever. Had I never heard my HF-1s I could easily be content with these, especially given the going rate for HF-1s. But given that I currently have way too many dynamic headphones I just can't find a good reason to keep them and know that someone else will enjoy them.
How do they look? Well, I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. But what I can add is that there's about 10 hours of work put into them in the form of both the recable and mostly the woodwork, a lot of love went into these. And honestly, I think they look better in person than they do in the pictures, but of course I would say that!

I am asking for $350 shipped and paypaled for the headphones, I think that price is pretty fair and am not interested in trade offers. They will come double-boxed in the stock box (that they don't fit so well in any more) and will be shipped via USPS insured and tracked priority mail (unless other arrangements are made before the sale). I'm sorry to say that given the recent rash of issues I've seen on the forums I'm restricting the sale of the headphones to the US only and also insisting on a Paypal payment from a verified address. If you have any concerns about dealing with me please feel free to check my feedback here.
Please PM with any questions and thanks for looking!
[edit]While I'm flattered to have been asked I want to make it perfectly clear that I'm not interested in modding headphones for other people. There are businesses that supply that service and I'm not intending to become one of them.
These headphones were a one-off to practice for further mods on my HF-1s.
