I just wanted to thank everyone who previously helped me select speakers and then help me determine a receiver set-up. Although I'm still not certain that this is my final receiver, I am just blown away.
I have the Usher S-520 hooked up to the Panasonic SA-XR57. At first I was blown away by the change from my original old Kenwood speakers, but thought that the Panasonic made the vocals sound artificial, particular for the female. Then, I decided to try those thick wires I got from Blue Jeans into the Panny, which I couldn't in the kenwood in the first place, then the problem of articificiality was solved. I'm so pleased. Listening to Rufus Wainwright - Rebel Prince and Feist - Let it Die as references. I'm glad the set-up brings out Feist's sweet, luscious vocals. These receivers are definately satisfactory after the wire change.
Did I mention already how amazed I am? Especially since this is my first speaker system and first time experimenting with equipment play. Now I know why it's so addicting.
