There's a huge political protest literally two minutes walking distance from where I work, so I couldn't help but to go snap some shots:

ZyRRU3ql.jpg

Here, this man is calling for ROC president Ma Ying-Jeou, who has a public approval rating of 9%, to be removed from power.

Ma Ying-Jeou and the ruling KMT have been aggressively pushing for a China-Taiwan trade agreement, and unilaterally passed the pact in the Legislative Yuan.

Last night, a large group of college-aged protesters stormed and occupied the Legislative Yuan. A large public rally has congregated outside the grounds.

I have more photos, but am predisposed for the next few hours. Photojournalism is fun, but sweaty.

Love the sunglasses. My Grandfather had glasses like that but no one said anything. He was tough but quiet, maybe found em at a thrift store and liked them.:D

Finally got them uploaded. That was fun.

Hopefully, I'll get some time to photograph the front entrance part of the protest tonight or tomorrow morning.

UPDATE 3/22:

Haven't had time to shoot too much, and there are now so many people (mostly college students) that it's difficult to get in/out. It's actually a big pain to get back to my place, with all the extra pedestrians and road blocks...

This is the view outside the legislative building. It's filled with people.

Nice! You went rock climbing?

Were they alive with the sound of music?

More negative space:

This is about a 100% crop, yet there's still this much composure in the image. I love my camera.

And my first double exposure!

Alrighty Gents, some shots from recent senior portrait shoot with my buddy Matt!

I think I'm getting this whole post-processing thing down a bit more ;)

Shame I figured out how to ACTUALLY use my new strobe a couple days AFTER the shoot... I still need to get a light stand and umbrella though!

Protests led by students continue here in Taiwan, heading into its second week. The shots here were taken during and after an attempt by students to occupy government cabinet offices. While successful, the students were later driven out by riot police. I won't mention the details here, but anyone curious can find it covered in any major international news media outlet, e.g. CNN, WSJ, BBC, Time, Al-Jazeera.
