ID this style of music, mike myers clip inside...

from the hilarious movie, so i married an axe murderer, with mike myers, pre-austin powers.

is there any 'real world' music like this, the band style and the vocals, almost spoken, i dig it a lot.

i could just imagine myself in a smoky, boozy lounge bar, really feeling this.

i know ppl will post some jazz similarities, im all ears, but i have the feeling this is more avant garde as one comment on youtube says, kind of a contrived modernistic style of its own, with traditional roots.

any suggestions of bands/artists greatly appreciated
