Anesthetize is pretty good, though Side 1 of the new EITS is pretty great too. if i can't pick the whole side, then Mistaken for Strangers or Squalor Victoria would get mentioned. i also really like Australia, because it's so fun and light.

This is tough, because there are a number of standouts for me this year... Hmm, let's go with:

Feist "1, 2, 3, 4"
Spoon "The Underdog" and My Little Japanese Cigarette Case"
Kings of Leon "Ragoo"
and LCD Soundsystem "Someone Great" and "All My Friends"

Okay, so I named six

Well, I'd probably have to go with something by Amy Winehouse (there, I said it…); not "Rehab," of course, but "Back to Black," "Love Is A Losing Game," (REALLY great tune) maybe even "Some Unholy War."

Song that came out of nowhere and has kinda stuck with me:
Bright Eyes - "Make A Plan To Love Me"

Feist is having a better year than I'd imagined, but even though she's a pretty decent songwriter, her music reminds me too much of things that were the opposite of rock and soul a few decades ago to get me truly excited.
