XLR to RCA cable?

How would one go about connecting the Apogee Mini-dac's XLR output to an amp with RCA inputs? Is there a good quality cable for this?

Have fun, just make sure that you XLR and RCAs have the correct female or male selection.

If you already have a pair of XLR cables, a few adapters should work:

Otherwise, Blue Jeans Cable and other companies can custom build cables with any terminations you like, and they'll recommend particular cables and connectors. Just send 'em an e-mail.

i used Premium Canare XLR Female to RCA Male Cables on my apogee mini dac, found at www.markertek.com for $26 for the pair. to me it sounded better than using a silver mini to rca.

If you use an adapter, I would highly recommend that you contact Apogee to find out if pin 3 should be connected to ground or left floating, and then verify that with the manufacturer of the adapter. Balanced output stages are of many different designs--and some should not have pin 3 tied to ground to adapt to an unbalanced input.
