I'd rather have a miniature fully parametric EQ that I could strap to my iPod, personally.

yeah just read abt that on engadget, looks sexy!

on further inspection of the website, the earphones are clearly a gimmick and over priced, all that talk of the customizable sound quality.but the actual components are very cheap and just gives me the impression the bass and highs are going to be cheap and artificial

nice one,yeh i might give them ago also im trying to figure out if they are worth it,absolutely nice idea but seems a bit tacky,i think id like to leave it to the pro's personally

Too good to be true?

I have to admit, that is one great idea.

Now if it was done right or not, I do not know.

Gotta wait for the reviews before I drop cash on something that no one knows what they sound like yet (pre-order).

But either way I don't think it can fix the huge drop off in the treble that all armatures seem to have.

triple fi's have worse specs than my se530 in the high end but are said to extend very very well, the sleek things are a great idea and look decent but it seems like a massive money making gimmick,i mean who wouldnt wanna personally tweak components and sound,im with you tho ill wait for reviews

just emailed them asking about what we get for our $250:

Hello Jai,

The package comes with a custom designed storage case. 6 Treble Tips, 6 Bass Ports and custom designed ear tips in 3 different sizes to match the proper fit for you. One of the unique features is the ability to easily change our cable. This will allow for easy adapting to our future wireless products. If you have any more questions please do not hesitate to contact me, and I look forward to doing business with you as we revolutionize the earphone industry.

Sincerely,
Jason Krywko

future wireless products, revolutionize earphone industry? i should tell him to come on head-fi and give members a better price, then he can tap into the earphone industry.

ive come to a realisation that only a audiophile would spend more than $100 on earphones, of all my friends everyone wouldnt spend more than $50, bar a few.

so i don't know how they are going to target the general public with competition from already developed companies such as shure, ultimate ears etc.

i am interested to see how these pan out, and debating whether i risk it and preorder the Sleek Audio SA6 or go for the custom Livewires. if these SA's were $100 cheaper i'd probably give em a go, $230 (after pre-order discount) still seems much.

They're interesting, but I'll wait until someone else tries them before I would consider them.
