What is up with those unis the Terps are wearing? Are they trying to make WV think they are just a mud puddle?

Glad the Terps just scored though - it'd be nice if this game stayed close...

Sad News in the Dispatch

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Columbus, OH (AP) - A seven-year old boy was at the center of a Franklin County courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him. The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with child custody law and regulation requiring that family unity be maintained to the highest degree possible.

The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her. When the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried and said that they also beat him. After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him.

After two recesses to check legal references and confer with the child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the University of Michigan Wolverines, whom the boy firmly believes are not capable of beating anyone.
LOL

Now that's funny.

It might be a close if WVU's D doesn't stiffen up... Their D appears a little smallish to me.

Have to love that Mountaineer O though. One of the reasons I still love college football. I've already counted two camera fakes.

The black out is cool. Too bad they couldn't get the whole crowd to participate.

Join the club. The rumor mill here has Miles on a plane already. Maybe Michigan hires them both? Couldn't hurt.

on a somewhat related matter- a judge allowed the tree sitters to stay yesterday.
How much ruckus would it cause if Oski ran out there revving a chain saw during halftime on Sat.

Check this out: Sean Glennon, VT's QB, not so happy.

WVU looked salty.

That offense is a great defense in itself. Maryland appeared to be pressing the second half. Punting is a scary thought against that team.

Noel Devine is alright ain't he? I like that Ivy kid on the D-Line too. If they could throw a couple more like him in the trenches, that team would be no.1.

that would be awesome! he'd get cheers from 97 percent of the crowd. My current idea is to infect the trees with this virus that's been killing oak trees in the CA forest.... but I'd need a bio person to help me out...

Yes, the Mountaineers have some kids who can tote the ball. No doubt.

Man, I'm having a hard time believing Mich beat Notre Dame this bad after the last two losses. But heck, who can be complaining!

Go blue!

UCLA is down, Washington is down, could USC be next today??? I hope so as a Ducks fan, but not as a Pac-10 fan.

UCLA went down... i told you they were fakers.

USC is killing Nebraska... good for them, I didn't want the LA times humiliated or anything. (i still think T.J. Simers is an *******).

Oregon did well... good for them. I'll be in Eugene in a few weeks.

I'm disappointed in Wash, I was hoping they'd win.

I'm glad Mich won... that keeps some of the pressure off them to get a new coach.

game report: Cal-42-12 over Louisiana Tech. Cal looked good, just little things... QB NL was very shaky and the defense looked weak at times. DJ dropped his "once per game breakout" pass. Cal could have scored more, but the 2nd team offense had issues with the O line/passing/fumbles.

I hate to speculate early, but it's entirely possible the SEC champ, big XII champ, big 10 champ, and Pac-10 champ go undefeated the whole season... then what?

I'm not surprised. Notre Dame is seriously that bad.

I can't believe that UCLA got manhandled like that. Can you say overrated? As for USC/Nebraska, I was rooting for Nebraska, but I wasn't expecting much. I have no complaints about the outcome of the Washington game. Our defense was just too much for them. I just wish the Bucks could've got the offense going a little earlier. As for Michigan...meh. That Notre Dame team is one of the worst teams I think I've ever seen in my life. Appalachian St. and Oregon were much better teams. As unlikely as the first two losses were, there was no way they could lose to Notre Dame. I think Michigan's second and third stringers could beat Notre Dame.

Notre Dame is truly awful. They will lose to Michigan State next week, and by at least 14 points.

I sure wish UCF could have finished off Texas. That was looking good for a while.

It looks like USC, FLA, LSU, and OKLA are really good, and then there may be a huge drop off after that, although it would be nice to know at some point just how good BC and Penn State really are. I guess time will tell...

Impressive win by Florida over Tenn makes them serious #1 contender along with USC and LSU.........not convinced that Oklahoma is on same level though

Big test for USC will be games with Cal and Oregon, Nebraska barely a speedbump

Watched Texas fight for thier life to beat Central Fla........why are these ranked teams still playing nonconference cupcakes 3rd game of season, cowardly schedules

Texas is so overrated that it makes my brain hurt. But the way things are going, there's seriously a chance that OSU could end up playing for the national championship. I know that sounds stupid now, but look what happened when they won it in '03. They didn't start out ranked particularly high, and they didn't have any truly impressive victories, but they managed to make it to the number 2 rank and play Miami for the title. Louisville is out of the top ten. Texas is going to drop (it's only a matter of time). West Virginia is going to lose (they always do). If OSU can run the table (provided there are shakeups in the current top 4) they've got a legitimate shot.

Will this happen? It's a longshot, but the '03 situation leaves me with a glimmer of hope.
