First of all, I want to thank head-fi for the help I received when buying my first set of better than the average headphones. I am still loving my super fi 5 pros.
Anyway on to more pressing matters. My brother is getting married and we(myself and my other siblings) are planning on getting him a decent audio set up, mp3 player and good speakers.
I do not pretend to know much about what I should or should not get when it comes to a decent audio set up. As it stands, we are planning on getting a 30gb iPod and the Bose SoundDock. From previous reading of other threads on here, I know that Bose is almost blasphemous, and I can get much better quality elsewhere for the same price, so that is why I need some advice.
Basically, we are planning on spending 600-700 euro. Can anyone please give me some advice on what would be a better option(value for money-wise) for a good audio mp3 player and speaker set up for a living room than the 30gb iPod and SoundDock?
