Yeah, impressions, whatever the silicon is. Everyone seems to call it something different.

Oxidation?

I doubt very much that you will see any oxidisation unless you purposely expose them to mercury-vapor or sodium-vapor lamps, or leave them baking in the sun for a very long time.

The lid of my Michell Hydraulic Reference Transcriptor (The deck in Clockwork Orange!) is made of acrylic and is still clear after many years.

wow thanks for the information... but even so, could there possibly be andy discoloration due to sweat or heat from the body/ears? who knows what can happen down the line.

i am having so much trouble choosing colors- but it is fun really. i like the look of clear on clear, but they would match my um1s. the red and blue with black endplates seems to be popular...is that the classic livewire color scheme or something? is that why its popular?

nice anyway

I ordered the Red/Blue with the black faceplate. I was told these and the skin tone red/blue were the most popular. Filipelli you are in the same area as me. You can check them out when the come in just PM me.

You didn't carefully read what I had posted ...I'll underline for you....

"Properties: Acrylic plastics transmit and control light, resist weather, are stable against discoloration, and have superior dimensional stability and an excellent combination of structural and thermal properties........Transparency, gloss, and dimensional stability of acrylics are virtually unaffected by years of exposure to the elements, salt spray, or corrosive atmospheres. "

The skin tone and clear/clear faceplates remind me of hearing aids, and my three sons would not give my head peace if they saw me wearing them.

Trying to look cool when you're past cool is not easy.

I see...hmmm...sorry then.

Well, I suppose you could have an unusual body chemistry that could trigger spontaneous human combustion while listening to Motorhead, and completely melt your phones.

I am fond of black..but, security wear black....and I live in Northern Ireland.

I also tend to steer clear of balaclavas.

Haha thats funny right there..

Yeah its true, the beige and clear do remind me of hearing aids too. The clear ones look so crisp and clean though...I am leaning in that direction. All black is a statement I think!

Well,

I discussed these with John via email this weekend - sent my money today after I had the money from ER6i, Bose IE, and Shure SE310 in my paypal account. I still have $24 left in paypal, whoohoo!

I will mail the impressions and order form monday, but like everyone else I am on the fence about color. It was a toss up between: (1) blue/red with clear-base plates or (2) blue/red with black base-plates. But now (3) clear/clear/clear is in the mix as well.
haha yeah those are my color preferences...I want matching base plates just because i took as look at the clear ones with the red and blue and didn't like the muffled colors too much..

Hey larry, so how did you make payment? I assumed that you send the payment, the order form, and the impressions all at once.

Go all blue that would be my second choice. The kids might even think they were cool
