Have you ever hated a headphone brand from start to finish? - Page 5

I despise Skullcandy and similar brands that rely on trying to look trendy rather than actually being good. I somewhat dislike Bose, but Bose isn't so much bad quailty as overpriced.

Ditto to that on the Skullcandy. It is really bad taste to me. Bose sound isn't too bad, just overpriced like you say too

I hate you, because you are disregarding my right to hate things, no matter what purpose it has.

Yes, AKG.

I've been searching long and hard to find an AKG model that I like, but so far it's been nothing but disappointment.

The only brand I truly hate is Coby. They make nothing but nasty budget phones, and about 75% of the people at my work currently use them. It's a small wonder they still have their hearing.

Aside from them, I can't think of any headphone makers that don't have at least one model that I like.

Also, kudos for the almost nonexistent Bose bashing in a thread that I thought was going to be full of it.

I hate the HE90. I hate it because now that I've heard it, I can't listen to nearly any system and consider it good. I also hate the Qualia 010, for similar reasons.

Once I get the H2, I hope that others will hate it for the same exact reasons. I hope to hate the Edition 9, which I will end up with at some point as well.

I hate the ES2, too. I hate the fact that other people can't listen to it, and hear how it's obviously superior to every universal-fit IEM ever made. I guess they'll just have to take my word for it.

LOL Panasonic... every since my Panasonic RP-HJE50 broke RIGHT after the day of the warranty and I was even baby-ing it.

Oh and Skullcandy and Bose... Bose because it's just ridiculously overpriced and Skullcandy... because i just don't like them... LOL

Sony. Two pairs of MDR-V220 - same problem, broken cord.

MDR-27 headphones that came with the CD player - hardly worth for anything except maybe a cheap AM radio.

And really, Sony deserves a lot of hate for lowpassing their headphones (and ALL of consumer audio) at 18 KHz.

Though they say the MDR-V6 is decent-sounding. But then again, Sony's "professional" line is quite decent. It's the stuff they dare selling at prices similar to entry-level AKG, Sennheiser and Koss 'phones that's spoiling the general public's hearing and provoking album producers into overcompensating with all kinds of trickery (maximising/compressing, ahem...) for lack of resolution.

I guess ya gotta be "In the Know" to venture into Sony territory. Buyer beware, for sure.

....or; spend some time reading here and eliminate much of the worry.
