Thanks for getting motivated ichi. A month left of summer?! Man, that makes me jealous as I look forward to a 3-day weekend when I might acutally have some time to listen to music...

And 909, let 'em try! I'll just start quoting pic posts like this one but NOT cutting out the pics...

That is funny that it hasn't. I've occasionally read about it on headfi and saw it sitting on the table and said "why not". I was very surprised that it did everything well and wondered why it doesn't get hyped up more.

The AD2000 really impressed when I heard it with the R2R and ZD. I thought about buying one when they were first released a few years back.

I think it neads a bass heavy source or amp but other than that it sounds great.

Try as you might, and you N. Cal meet Lame'Os even had a one day head start. No, wait . . (slaps head; realizes that he might have just sent you to seven pages).

Cheers, gang; have really enjoyed reading the impressions. Looks like it was a killer meet with some uber serious gear. Would love to have heard that K1000 rig.

So what's stopping you now? I think it would make a great addition to your rig, you've already got AT's highest-end closed can, might as well get their highest-end open can!

I prefer the AD2000's bass as-is, don't think it really needs a bass-heavy source or amp. Then again I'm not a bass-head so feel free to plug away with your bassy amps & sources!

The ZD did sound really nice with it too, I think it was a better pairing than the Apache was, as nice as that sounded. It's a good thing the Apache has a configurable low gain, and it did work well with the AD2000, but IIRC, the ZD's default gain seemed lower than the Apache's low gain, and it didn't seem to add unnecessary mid-range warmth either, just more refinement & soundstage.

Are we on page 7 yet?

wakeride74, were you able to secure a PS-1 yet? They were going for around $1,500 about a year ago. Wow, the price really went over the top on those.

I guess it's still page 6... I have no shame...

You're probably right, but I didn't listen to them on my rig. Next time I get the opportunity I'll give them a good listen. Though, at the moment I've got my eye on a few other things.

the meet showed me that my emu 0404usb's DAC is good enough for me not to upgrade it any time soon. it acts as a perfect pre-amp for my speakers too! not to mention it has 2 volume knobs to play around with. usb/optical input as well...

other than that, the LISA III really impressed me listening to the D2000 and HD650.

i also heard the qualias and E9 for the first time... O_O the qualias were huge, but the soundstage and speed were astonishing (especially with shpongle ^^) the E9s had that superb bass slam that it is known for... felt weird on my ears though. all heard through ray's apache? =D

I guess I should have moved that Lisa around a little more, I think a lot of people missed out on hearing it because it was somewhat lost in the mess on that table. I meant to disconnect it and and use it with a DA10 and DAC1 but just didn't get around to it.
