ANIME HEADPHONES? EVA 01

So I was reading Newtype like the anime nerd I am (aug 08) and I saw headphones!!! They are making headphones based off of the popular anime Evangelion. It is a great series and there are "professional studio headphones". So regardless if they sound good, I am sure some of you anime guys are going to drool. Not to mention they come in a sweet case? haha. BTW they are made by audio technica. How funny would it be if they sound great. haha.

yes, we were talking about it around 5 months ago.

But to be true, that headphone would not remind most of the people about EVA unless you told them... so.... =_=

ATH is a Japanese brand.. so ... the term weeaboo can not work here.

That "01" on the side really makes me think, Vocaloid...
...but are they really Audio-Technica? In my opinion they look a bit like loudly colored Sony V700s.

There is also a dragonball headphone coming out.
Japanese company announces Dragon Ball headphones

I assume they will sound abysmal but whatever they have a market I guess.

I'm a pretty involved otaku and I still don't find interest in these. The closest anime related "real" headphone is the K701(worn by Mio). And I do want a pair, but not because of Mio. lol

Ugh otaku? Com'on, that's begging to be abused by internet trolls.

I used to obsess over anime and manga and even then wouldn't have bought this. Some one explain to me why these are cool. I did laugh at the NERV mouse though.
