International shipping

i sold some goods to an australian today as he handsomely covered the extra shipping. i've only made one other international ship and was not given the option of confirmed delivery. luckily it all worked out.

so my question is what would be the safest route that i ship and is there some sort of tracking number i can get without paying insurance through USPS or did i just misunderstand?

Not sure what you mean by "without paying insurance through USPS", every currier has a trackable shipping service. USPS has Priority Mail International, Express Mail International and Global Express, they are all trackable services.
