Shure E2C ---> UE Super.fi 3 ... Sound Quality Improvement?

I have the e2c's and the sound quality isn't that great.
Will the super.fi 3's be better in that regard?
Could there be something better?
Are they all (e2c, er6i, super.fi 3) just outdated now?
Thanks for looking, feel free to reply

Good question.

Mostly rock.

A little bit each of rap and classical.

Source is the latest 30 GB iPod.

super.fi 3 is not really "better". E2c, super.fi 3, ER6i aren't really outdated...they're probably some of the most popular sub $100 IEM's. Anyway...

For classical, I'd pick that super.fi 3 would be better than E2c, but for rap, rock or anything where you need bass, you will probably find that E2c has a lot more bass.

I'm considering JAYS d-JAYS....surely they would be better than E2c?? More comfortable, thats for sure.

anyone know where i could find d-jays cheaper than $100?

The UE Super.fi 3s are more accurate than Shure e2cs, but the difference is not all that big, and as Bigburger pointed out the UEs may not quite have enough bass for you. The Etys won't have enough bass either. I say if you really want an upgrade over Shure e2cs, take a look at higher end IEMs. I really like the Westone UM2 and I heard that Future Sonics Atrio M5s are even better, especially for their price, so take a look at those two if you want a real upgrade.

Oh, yeah forgot... Shure SE310s are also excellent sounding IEMs around the $200 mark. The cheaper SE210s are not that good though, because they have really rolled off upper highs.

d-jays have less bass that e2c., but they look better and are more clearer

$99 from audiocubes Nope, I doubt you can get them any cheaper becasue there are so few places you can buy them from. I'm wondering what the profit margin is on these things though?

hmmm, seems amazon doesn't like to carry westone nor jays, grrrr.

the er-6i's are the most detailed between the e2c-sf3-er6i's. But the bass response on them won't please most rap listeners. Personally I think they're great for classical music, they have more of a relatively flat response and are very detailed.
