Ipod with dock-line out vs an IMOD ?

I really can't afford an imod at the moment, and may get one in the future, but how good is the SQ of a 5.5g with a dock line out with an amp like the tomohawk and the e500s ill be geting.

the dock line out cable is alot cheaper than an imod lol. but i assume the sq is alot better than the headphone out, but then not sa good as the imod?

For a very long time before iMod 5G was introduced, many has enjoyed really good music through the stock iPod Lineout + Amp. There's no reason you will not enjoy it. Just get a lineout dock and an amp - later when you have the budget send them over to Vinnie

The main thing stopping me from getting an iMod is that there aren't any 'official' Vinnie's here in Australia.

I am a big beleiver in meeting the person that is gonna open up my baby (my iPod) and tinker with her!

That and it's very, very expensive!

thats understandable but wierd if you dont mind my saying.

i am the most fussy person with my daps, believe me.

i think vinnie thought he had recieved a priceless ming miniature tea cup, the way my ipod was wrapped when he got it, hehe

there is only ONE vinnie, and unless you take a trip to conneticut you aint gonna meet him in person

just look at it that your baby will have gone on a very special journey and rites of passage to gain the sound upgrade she truly deserves in life.

even if some guy opened up in the same town as me claiming to do similar voodoo to the ipod, i would still be sending it abroad to RWA!!!!

Gmod market base is for Malaysia and Singspore only. I doubt anybody internationally across the sea has Gmod.

Yep, in a recent local Head-Fi meet. For all my ear can tell they sound the same to my RWA iMod - makes perfect sense because we are talking about same DAC after all. Only caps selection, dock and amp will make them sound different.

And, as I understand it, they are using the same BGs as the RWA/ALO iMod (original)?

There are many on here that would vouch for Vinnie. I do. You cannot put your iPod in better hands nor receive better customer service.
