Official Denon AH-C700 Comparisons/Impressions - Page 14

My bad, I thought I had read somewhere that they were around that long, but checking back to CNET, it says 2/7/07 release date. Getting old, so not sure where I saw it. Interesting that there is not a single user review on CNET. Very odd, no, considering they have been around since February? Talk about a diamond in the rough.

So a HUGE thank you!!! Still wonder why there wasn't more interest in them at the time. Never mind, they've been resurrected now.
They sure have been resurrected it seems! They deserve all the praise they're now getting.

Since we're all on here live apparently, are we all using them at the moment? I'm enjoying Download 'Furnace', an electronic album by the frontman of Skinny Puppy, done entirely on a Mac. Stunning deep bass, and layered sound. Perfect for these Denons.

You trying to get me depressed? Nevermind, I just cranked up my amped (Microshar) PK1s and they sound great. Just have to wait for the Denon sound here.

Warrior, how do you think they'd be in travel? They are surprisingly isolating while music is playing, but when you pause external sounds are still pretty noticeable. Hopefully you wouldn't have to crank them too high to drown out cabin noise on a flight.

I already tried them on a flight last week, isolation was very good. I can't be bothered to find out which page I wrote it on but they performed much better than I expected.

Ah, excellent to hear... thanks- for everything! Discovering these gems... They sound so pristine, can't get over it.

Chris, I can't wait to hear in person how they sound.

Hah, just do it! You know you want to! Sell something to fund the purchase. They're really worth it.

May have to add an extra hour to my next client bill (just kidding). Just reduced the price of the RP-21 I am selling. That'll help. I really like the RP21s, but just don't use them around the house much, and have the Grados for my over the ear phones (I don't use them much either). That was a true impulse buy. Someone who wants the RP21s is going to get a very good deal.

Anyway, I can afford the Denons. I just am growing weary of the buy/sell process. And again, my PK1s sound pretty freaking awesome, I kid you not. They are a very special ear bud.

I will no doubt pull the trigger, either when I sell the RP21s, or when I get a couple of new assignments. Then, there's always poker. Heading to AC next week.

Either way, I'll have a pair sooner than later.

Edit: Okay, I ordered them via Amazon, for $132 shipped (I have Amazon Prime, which is free two-day shipping). Another one bites the dust. Now, I definitely will be selling my RP21s, if someone makes an offer. I think that's a pretty good price, considering what I have seen on the thread.

I'm sure you'll just find another way... you must read Head.Fi! It's an addiction! How else will you continue to find out about other new gems like these?

Good luck, heh heh.

Sold my RP21s at least, so my wallet is not as light as it was an hour ago. As for gems, I hope this is the last "gem" for awhile.

I've said this before, that E2c tips fit the Denon, but I only use the Denon medium black for bopping around town, or the Orange foam tips for the E2c if I sleep with them in.

But I've got a pack of the orange EC2 tips that Shure sent me in error (it's easy to mistake them for black foam tips I guess. . . ) and the orange tips have a much narrower tube. There was no way I could fit them on, even after I borrowed b/f's 'good' pliers to stretch the core.
