Ultrasone HFI 2200 ULE?

Hey guys,

Have any of you guys ever heard the Ultrasone HFI 2200 ULE. They are open, full size headphones, kinda brownish color with golden colored pads. I was wondering if they sound good or not. They are rated at 40 ohms. I was wondering because Im interested in buying a fairly efficient set of open headphones. Right now Im also looking at the HD595 and SR225 aswell.

Uhhh, they are Ultrasones, so, probably not that great. (prepares for Ultrasone fanboy flaming, and grins)

I bought a pair last week and am burning them in right now. Bass is better (to my ears) compared to the SR225 and the AKGs I have (which are bass light.) Based on what I've read, not the same level of detail as the Proline 2500s and 750s, but a fun can to listen too. I'm hoping the mids get better with burn in, but am spoiled by the AKGs, since that is their strength. I find that they are much better amped and mate well with the Go-Vibe 5. Since I could not buy them locally, I shopped around the internet and found a couple of vendors with really good pricing.

they are 75 Ohms actually...
and have specs like Proline 650

The 2200s are just lovely, really. They are the headphones that I listen to when I don't feel like listening to headphones!

As another member most succinctly described them awhile back in his 3-word, single-sentence review:

"Vacation for ears!"
