considering fake CX300´s have been around for a while now, that fake EP630 show up isnt a surprise, what im surprised is that they dont sell fake AKG, its the same mold, but since the AKG are more expencive, theres more profit margin,

Fake ep-630 have been around for years, they were selling them on ebay before cx300 was even released.

Never buy "OEM packaged". Better off buying senns cx300 off amazon (about $40, always check seller).

Hi folks, I just wanted to thank the members here for this thread and especially the pictures. I purchased what I now believe to be obvious fakes on eBay, and shortly after paying around $5 for them, my BS detector started going off and I started Googling. After reading some other pages and especially seeing the picture with the "ring test" here, I emailed the seller not to waste my time if they were, in fact, fakes. To her credit, she refunded me my money, and to be fair I dropped the matter with them then. I since ordered genuine EP-630s from Amazon (and am using them now).

However, I did get a message stating that they'd shipped prior to her refunding my money, so who knows, maybe I got free fake headphones out of the deal as well. If, in fact, they do end up arriving here, I'll post some side-by-side fake vs. real pictures for posterity.

Thanks again!
